My photo guest book

Recommended Posts

This is the frame I picked out last night (from the Bay here in Canada) for the little sign on the table to our guests about the book.  I loved that it was shiny like the engraved plate, and the wave pattern of the frame mimics my wedding ring:

Let me ask you everyone keeps telling me this is not a good idea because who is going to "man" it. I only have about 25 people and 7 of those are kids so they might be right BUT I made my guestbook already and I love it and I ordered boas and masks and sunglasses from oriental trading and had a poster made at vista print. I have not bought the film and camera and I am so on the fence. I LOVE the idea but I am worried about who is going to want to be responsible for this??

I plan to have one of my girlfriends "man" the guestbook...kinda.  Here's our plan...immediately after our ceremony, there will be a champagne toast and some appies on the beach while the photographer outlines her plan to our guests for the group/family photos and shoots with everyone.  Following that, the photog and my husband (whoa...that sounded weird!) and I will head off for pics for an hour.  While folks are mingling, Erin will introduce the "activity" and do things like make sure everyone knows to take horizontal photos (as that's how we've placed the plastic sleeves in our book).  She'll probably end up taking the majority of the first round of photos.  They can have fun with it while we're away...putting their photos in the book and signing a note on their page.  After that's done, as far as I'm concerned it's a free for all!  We'll have the camera, book, props on a table in the palapa and people can take pics all night (or until the film runs out).  We'll have a group of 34 (4 kids) and don't anticipate any major issues.  As far as I'm concerned, as long as each single/couple/family has a pic on a page with their message when the night is over, I'm happy!

I was thinking the exact same thing. My ceremony is at 4pm and the cocktail hour can start at 5 so we can take some group shots of everyone for a half hour and than start the reception at 6 it is all right there anyway and i was thinking it would be great for them to do the photos while we are doing our pictures and they are having the cocktail hour. I wonder if I can enlist my 12 year old niece for this project lol she is the only person who wants to help me lol.

I found these really cute frames http://www.pfile.com/product/t-pf5369ax/New-Photo-Folders which fit the instax photos perfectly. i was going to let each guest take a pic for my guestbook and one for themselves. So these little paper frames are perfect but you have to order 4 packages of 25 and I only need one. they only fit the fuji instax wide film so if anyone wants to do this and share the cost please let me know ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
