the long distance fees for the 10 minutes you talk to her, is totally worth your sanity! trust me!

you have way more planned than I do! I'm waiting to see how many of my bridesmaids get pregnant between now and then before we go shopping and I pick one of them to be my maid of honour

I called and we got the day!!! YAY YAY YAY i was so excited Tameica prolly thinks i'm nuts haha.

So glad I called. She said she tried to send the confirmation e-mail the day before and it crashed her computer? I hope that's not a sign ! But I got the e-mail now so it's all good.

I think I have too much planned. She said they contact you a MONTH before to start planning details? My wedding isn't for 11 months I can't wait 10 months to plan stuff i'll go nuts. Do they really not contact you until then? I guess I still have to find a dress and i'm also trying to decide if I want 2 or 4 bridesmaids. My FI is only having 2 groomsmen but i'm having a hard time choosing only 2!

Congratulations!!! Thats so awesome you got your day!!!!

I am sad to say we are not able to get our private reception or a have a separate area on the patio of @ UncleTony's ...We will do a cocktail party after with a band... I am a bit bummed and sad that we won"t have the reception we expected... boo

I saw that breeze 616 had 4 bridesmaid and her hubby had 2 groomsmen...the pictures looked awesome and very balanced! I am sure the guys didn't mind either  LOL!!

I send Temeica emails all the time and she prob thinks i am a bridezilla LOL .... but  if you have a Q you will likely find the answers on here!! :)

aw that sucks you don't get a private reception! Where can you have the private cocktail party, and are you still going to cut the cake and give speeches during that time? A cocktail party will be fun too!

Do you know if we can stay at the suites even though our wedding is at the beach? I asked Tameica in my e-mail when i sent my date request but she didn't answer me.

hmmm not sure... i know people staying at the Beach have to pay extra to visit the Suites or Grand property's.... i was under the assumption you are to host the wedding where you stay? stupid.gif

We are going to spend the last 4 nights at the Grand.... its too expensive for our guests but at least it will allow us to get a mini honeymoon ;) try asking on the iberostar rose hall forum... i haven't heard of anyone asking this prior.....

let me know what you find out :)

Thanks, i'll ask on that thread too. We're going to Couples Swept Away in Negril for our honeymoon! It'll be nice to honeymoon at the Grand cause it's adults only, it looks sooooo nice.

Bob Marley terrace sounds cool! I like the idea of the cocktail party after dinner I think it will be just as fun and special as if you rented out a restaurant. You'll have to let me know how it is and take lots of pics because I might end up doing the same type thing! :) More to decorate yikes I don't know how i'm going to get all this stuff to Jamaica haha

LizK23,

So happy you called and got your date! Don't worry, my email crashed when she tried to send me all of the contract and booking stuff too. I'm not going to worry about bridesmaids until about 6 months before. I mean, there are potential pregnancies in my bridal party, and that might leave me with only 2 of 4 girls!

Yes i'm so glad too thanks for the advice. I have a potential for pregnancy in my bridal party too, and I have to wait to see who's all coming for sure. One of my 2 sister's has baby twins and her husband is a vice principal at a high school here and a work-aholic so they might not be coming. But if they are coming, I feel obligated to make her one of my bridesmaids. I asked my best friend already accidently because I was showing her the bridesmaid dresses I liked and just could not keep it a secret lol oops. I'll probably wait until people have booked the trip to ask anyone else though. I have to wait another month for flight prices to come out for next January!

It's nice that destination weddings are so much less work (at least it seems that way to me), so we don't have to rely on our bridesmaids to help plan all the small details.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
