How soon to start?

I just found this thread, and I think it's great!  My FI and I have been together for over 4 years now.  I am 28 and he's 29.  We've already gone on a few trips and have really enjoyed "our" time together.  I told him that after our wedding on 5/21, I am going off the pill, just b/c I don't really like taking it, so if he doesn't want kids yet, he better be careful...lol.  But in my opinion, if it happens, it happens.  But everyone is different.  I think you all should do whatever is best for you and your hubby (or future hubby!). :-)

We got legally married in 08 and had our baby in 2010.  I wanted at least a year of only US, but we didn't want to wait to long.  My hubby is now 33 & has a 13 yo...he wanted to make sure he was young & active for the new baby...he wants to coach ectect.  When we started trying I didn't think I would be lucky enough to conceive right away.  But surprise surprise, it happened on the first try.

Hi Ladies!

We are getting married in April 2012 and I plan on going off BC (but using condoms) in February or so so we are TTC right after the wedding. I just had my yearly checkups with both my GP & OB/GYN.

I'm now on prenatal vitamins and my GP sent me for blood tests for my thyroid (I have hypothyroidism), Rubella (apparently, the Measles vaccine wears off after a certain amount of time and there's some issue for pregnant women, so she wanted to test to see if I still had the antibodies or w/e), and all the other good stuff. We also switched my Hypertension medication to something pregnancy-safe (Pindolol for anyone interested).

Good luck to everyone TTC!

Denielle

I have hypothyroid, and I've heard that it can make conceiving difficult.

I'm 27 and behind my schedule, my goal was pregnant at 26 but then we pushed the wedding back and now we are going on vacation to Dubai next year.  I think after New Year, no more BC.  If it happens, it happens.  I really didn't want to be pregnant on such a big vacay, but I'm tired of waiting.  If we weren't going I'd start now.

Hi All,

I'm 37 and my FI is 38 and we both want kids, we've actually been trying for a couple of months and so far no :(

I'm wondering, the wedding is 2 months away, should we stop trying until after the wedding now?  Some of my friends have been telling me they'll kill me if I'm pregnant and they can't party with me in Punta Cana, and I didn't really care but now that we are coming up to the date and I'm not pregnant yet, I'm back on the potentially waiting fence.  I know we'd like a couple of kids so we'll have to have them back to back, but will a couple months really make a difference or should we keep trying?

Hi ladies!

We are not TTC until around 1 1/2- 2 years from now.  We just got married in July.  In November we will have been together 4 years, living together 2 1/2 years and married 4 months.  yay :)

Neither of us are ready yet to bring kids into this world.  We go out of town almost every other weekend and we love to travel and have selfish "me time".  BUT I turn 30 next summer so it's always in the back of my mind.

It's good to know what to keep in mind (the BC pills, folic acid, etc.)  My OB/GYN actually told me to start taking folic acid as soon as I told her I was getting married. I guess she thought it could happen anytime accidentally??  I've been on and off the pill for 12 years.  That freaks me out.

Question:  Why does you have to have a blood test if you have cats and what is it for?

We have two kitties and I am the PRIMARY cleaner of the litter box LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
