OOOH I haven't gone there yet, as to buying the book but that's a good idea I never thought of it before!

Sounds like our hubbies are thinking along the same lines... today one of our friends announced that they are prego with their second baby so happy for them and I will admit its the first time that I was actually a little jealous and not like thank god its you and not us LOL funny how you spend so many years trying so hard not to get prego and now I want it!

Good luck, there doesn't seem to be that many people on this thread so we will have to be there for each other for a while!

Yeah hopefully we can get this thread going again! I know I want to be pregnant yesterday, I've had baby fever for such a long time. My sister and her hubby are also TTC, so now it's a race to see who's first! My mother said we're trying to give her a heart attack haha. I am happy for them, but also secretly hope we are first! How terrible is that? All in good fun competition, right?

Luckily my sister and brother are not close to TTC but I get it, my best friend and her husband are trying so her and I are supporting racing each other lol. I am the same I want it now I am not the best at waiting actually I really, really suck at it so hopefully it doesn't take that long although I have read it can take a year... and to think of all the crap you go through to try to prevent it from happening! How is your DH about everything? Excited nervous??

I hear ya I suck at waiting too! I am praying it happens soon, because we won't try in March b/c we don't want a Christmas baby. Has anybody else done this, plan the month you want your baby to be born? Or am I crazy? I just think Christmas babies get ripped off, it's a busy time of year and sometimes birthdays get overlooked, or they get a combo present. Anyway, just our preference. My hubby is excited for the idea too, he wants a family and I think he'll make an amazing Dad. He's nervous too, but I think most of the emotions will come once I'm actually pregnant and it's a bit more real. For now we're just trying, and dreaming of the idea of a little mini me or mini him! But I already have a plan of how I'm going to tell him I'm pregnant, once I am, and I can't wait! Getting ahead of myself, as per usual LOL

You are def not alone in the "planning the month"  One of my best friends is getting married this November- which means we can't start trying until after her wedding.  I don't want to try in November because we now have 3 friends with babies being born in August. I also do not want a December baby (even though my husband's birthday is in Dec and he says it's fine)- we just have too many Dec birthdays already.  So that means we will have Dec, Jan, and Feb to try and hope we get pregnant then otherwise we will be waiting until April (which I'd prefer not to have a jan baby either lol)...so fingers crossed it takes us less than 4 months to concieve! :)

I had been planning on waiting a year after we were married, but my FI wants to try right away and he has a good point that us being together before we're married is kind of our pre-baby phase. (Since we already live together and decide things together). I'm also starting to get the itch to have kids, so we will see what happens!!

@@tpete199 Good luck!! It's so exciting! And stressful at the same time! It's so weird to not be in control, I think that's what I'm struggling with right now. We've had control of everything else, our relationship, we got engaged when we wanted, married when and where we wanted, take vacations when we want...the list goes on. But when it comes to having a baby, it's not up to us!! And it's so difficult to let that go and leave it up to fate! How does that song go, que sera, sera?

It's so good to see all of these thoughts and that this thread is hoping again :)

My FI and I are 9 years apart so he doesn't want to be retiring and still have kids in the house. I'm not getting any younger either, so we will probably start trying soon after we get married. I would have preferred to have had time to ourselves but we've already been living together so not much will change. I had never thought of not trying for certain months. I guess with my age and his we will just be thankful whenever it happens :)

My FI and I are 7 years apart and he doesn't want to wait either.

@@jackshayne0123 - I know what you mean about the non control thing I think that is what bothers me the most about it, "what do you mean I have to sit back and just wait for it to happen" that isn't my character at all!!!

I am glad to see there are some more ladies that have joined in, I was beginning to think that I was the only one lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
