How soon to start?

We haven't come to a consensus about when the babies will come yet.  He originally wanted to start soon after the wedding because his baby clock is ticking so loudly it keeps ME up at night (he's 34, I'm 25).  Now, we seem to like the idea of travelling and getting used to married life for a year before trying to make a baby.  We'll see!

This forum is absolutely amazing. lots of information, so many things I didn`t know. Thanks Guys, and to think FI and I wants to start trying right after the wedding. We are getting married in September. Hopefully it happens soon, already in my thirties.

Will definitely consult my doctor for more information. Thanks again guys

Great information ladies!

By the time we are married, we will have been together for 1.5 years and would love to spend some more quality time with just the two of us, but we are both 35 and have no children and both of our clocks are ticking LOUDLY. LOL

Ideally we would like 2-3 kids, so we are going to start trying pretty soon after our AHR, so that means August for us. He keeps praying for TWINS!  wacko.gif

Now that you guys mentioned the 3 month off BC window, that means I may need to reevaluate our timing.

It's funny, I have gone my whole adult life making sure I didn't pregnant and now I am trying to figure when to start TTC. It definitely took me awhile to get to that train of thought.

Good luck to you all!

We have decided that as soon as we are married I will go off the pill and when it happens it happens.  We don't want to wait to long as we wish to have three or four kids.

Its great to see so many people planning to TTC.  Just a heads up, be prepared that once you start trying it can actually happen immediately.  Fi and I got pregnant like the second we went off birth control and so far I am having a very healthy, happy pregnancy.  Well, ok, the morning sickness is hell but baby is completely healthy.  I just say be prepared for it to happen immediately because I thought it  would take us a long time.  I'm 34 and I thought well, it takes 3 months for the pill to get out of your system, plus I'm older so let's be prepared that we might get pregnant like 6 months from now.  Haha, nope, it was bam, we're pregnant so it was actually quite a shock, a happy shock but still a shock that it happened so quick.   Good luck to anyone else who is trying.

Congrats Cindy.  I'm glad to hear that you were able to conceive quickly.  I think for most people it happens within 3-6 months.

I just want to add that on the other hand it can take longer than anticipated.  We've been trying for 8 months and I don't expect that we will be lucky enough for it to happen anytime soon considering my body's behaviour thus far post-pill.  I also want to add that I am a healthy 28 year old with no known reproductive concerns. I exercise regularly, I eat a healthy, well balanced diet, I don't smoke and I only drink a glass of wine only on occasion....so its impossible to predict who will conceive immediately and who will have more trouble.

Aww congrats Cindy!!!  We are getting married in June and are having our AHR in early July, so as soon as all of that is over, we are going to "stop preventing" and see what happens!  I plan on going to see my doctor sometime in early June, just to see see what kind of things I should or shouldn't be doing...but we would really just like things to happen naturally, whenever it happens, it happens!  He is going to be 37 and i'll be 28 in July, so we didn't want to wait too long! (ever since I can remember I always had this 'goal' of having my first child before I was 30)  We bought a home and have been living together for almost 3 years now, so we're ready for anything that comes!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
