JULY 2011 BRIDES

Hi ladies I bought a lip stain to test out what to use for the big day and it is AWESOME.  I have reddish lips so when I put on a peach color stain it made my lips brighter (which I love).  So be careful when you choose a color.  Does anyone else have any tips?

Ladies, you are all doing great!!!

As for me, things are really moving along. I have finalized all of the major details such as photo/video, dresses, location, ahr venue, etc. Now for the little things....and they're not so little, lol:-) Anyone having any frustrations during your planning? One annoying thing is that I was totally overcharged for my custom invites, but it was such a hassle working with multiple vendors that the FI said if its only $200 bucks more, lets just go with what I really wanted. But it still stings:-(

On another note, my current project is putting together the contents of my OOT bags. I have gotten input from other BDW brides and all of the ideas are wonderful. From there: ceremony programs, menu, place cards, favors. yada, yada, yada. How are you coming along with these items?

What are some of your wedding favors? For those traveling to Jamaica, I truly wanted to get them a spectacular favor as a thank-you. Hoping to find something that guests will really like and use. I don't want items left on the island, lol:-) Any suggestions?

Happy planning to all of you!!

I think I am going to go to Sephora in May, and have a make over, and then decide from that what makeup etc I will be wearing. My son gave me a gift certificate for there at xmas so I will take his gf with me since she has offered to do my make up the day of the wedding.

GlamDiva,  I am about at the same stages as you for planning.  I have reconfirmed with photographer, wedding planner, etc.

Right now my spare bedroom is wedding central lol. I have the oot bag stuff all over the bed and ready to organize, just need to pick up a few more items. I am going today to buy the ribbon for the raffia fans and will be attaching that sometime this week.

I bought starfish wine toppers from Weddingstar as a favour and putting them in the oot bags, they should be coming in any day.

I had arranged a catamaran for the afternoon of the wedding, but the company kinda screwed that up (partly my fault for not booking it sooner) Anyways I did find another company and now I have rented speed boats, great company they cater to your needs, so we will be snorkeling, private beach and tubing, as well a tour along the coastline. Its a way better price then the catamaran and its longer. Food and snacks are also included. I have alot of older guests so they wont be tubing but they can relax on the beach.

My biggest worry for the wedding is the budget, I seem to go over it on a daily basis. FI keeps telling me not to worry. But I do lol. Also my weight is a big one for me. I need to drop a few lbs for the dress to fit. I refused to order it one size larger at a higher price. The only measurement that is off is my waist. At the time of ordering it was 3 inches I have to lose, right now its about 2. I know I can do it but its haunting me.

We have almost reached the 4 months to go mark. The time is starting to go by very quickly!

Hey girls, brides and travelers!!!

If you are getting married or traveling to the Dominican Republic BETWEEN JULY 9 and JULY 23 (not before and not after) I have a discount for American Airlines for 5% off if you would like to use it. As long as you are flying TO PUJ and FROM PUJ roundtrip you can use it. It takes about 30-40$ off and now a days, every little bit counts for our guests...

PM me if you want to use it, I'll be happy to give it to you and help people out, everyone is so awesome on this website.

Natalie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
