OK what is an OOT bag?  I haven't found a dress yet, but I did go to David's Bridal to see what I look good in, and I love the mermaid look (I'm 6ft tall, the other styles made me look weird).  Our colors are fuchsia, navy, gold, and white.  We're from Jamaica, and because our family is from there they love the idea of us getting married in our country.  Our guest list is ridiculous for a DW, its over 100 guest.  We're going to have the cocktail hour and the private reception.  We're not morning people so our wedding will be at 4:00pm.  I'm not a girlie girl and I want a fabulous wedding so if you have any advise on what I could do, I will be open to your ideas because I'm lost lol.  @ Sunstarmoon where did you get your real touch flowers?

July 2, 2011 at Dreams Tulum! Haha I am way behind on what i have done!! I just purchased my dress..and yes imo its a beach dress!! Have you ladies gotten all your rsvps back yet? Because im still clueless about if a bunch of people are coming because they didnt want to send the save the date rsvps back!! Ugh!!!

I didn't get all of mine back, but I'm getting a lot of class for a travel agent...I'm like can you send me a response so I can know how many people are coming so I can tell a travel agent

sscandy99  -  OOT bags (also known as out of town bags) are a little thank you for your guests. Search the forum and you will come up with all kinds of info on it.

 

I am using Enchanting Memories in Hamilton Ontario. Its about a 1.5 hour drive from where I live so I went and meet with Debbie and we discussed what I wanted and she was able to show me all kinds of different flowers and bouquets that she was working on.

 

We invited about 40 people, so I sent out 20 save the dates with RSVP, I was pretty lucky and got most back. About 4 did not respond. My deadline was in October and I just got one back last week. A little late lol.  We have 10 people joining us. So 12 all together. We do have one couple that are waiting last minute to book.

 

I was going to send out formal invites, but now I am thinking why bother. I already know who is coming and alot of the guests thought the STD were the invitations.

I have way too many guest to get everyone an OOT bag, but I like the idea for our wedding party.  What are the things you put in yours?

I have also purchased my dress and it's from a local designer in Toronto.  My dress is very destination wedding - it's light and flowy and very comfortable.  I have also purchased my MOH and bridesmaid's dresses - they are wearing charcoal grey convertible dresses.  My colours are red and yellow to represent my asian background and FI's colour from his tartan.  

 

I will also be bringing real touch flowers with me as the flowers from the resort are so pricey.  We have about 30 ppl coming and another 10 who may be coming.  I'm still deciding on my invites and whether or not it's worth the time to do them.  We are doing OOT bags and so far we have purchased the bags, chapsticks, hand sanitizers, spring water sprays (to keep ppl cool).  We are still expecting to get some travel mugs (I really like the Bubba mugs but they are expensive), first aid kits, advil, sunscreen, aloe vera, mosquito spray, etc.

 

We have also confirmed our photographer and after much debate, we decided on bringing our photographer from Toronto.

I was noticing there aren't too many July brides for DWs!  I am getting married July 19, 2011 at Dreams La Romana.

I am about halfway through the OOT bags - ordered the bags from discountmugs.com (just basically a reusable tote like you would get at the grocery store) - I wanted to get a canvas bag but we are also giving out the bags at our AHRs (2 because of family travel issues) so I was ordering about 200 of them!  So far I have:  bandaids, hand sanitizer, individual wipes for cleaning sunglasses, individual cleaning wipes, personalized towels from toweloutlet.com - but still wanting to get the rest of the "first aid" part (motrin, aloe vera, tylenol, imodium, pepto etc) as well as a few others things.  So far I only have sand toys for the kids bags....will have to work on that one!

 

My colours are white, green and champagne/gold and most of my stuff has ended up having to be DIY because I can't find a lot of things in these colours!  BM dresses are champagne and they are each picking their own style - same fabric and colour though.  I ordered a dress off of ebay and I really like it but may end up using it for a TTD photo session since I found a different dress that I LOVE, and the ebay one was only $150!

 

I always felt like the wedding was so far away and now I'm starting to panic that I only have 5 months left to get everything together!

KCB,  I am also just under 5 months away, and have been getting worried about everything that still has to be done.  My daughter is coming for a visit today till sunday, then after that I am going to dig out everything that I have bought over the year and make that room wedding central!

 

How is everyone's planning coming.

 

I received my barefoot sandals in the mail on monday, I will post a picture of them when I get a chance.

Hello Ladies! 

 

Finally, I've found July 2011 brides!  I'm getting married on July 20th @ 5:00 at the Riu Palace Punta Cana!  Just received my invitations this week and will be booking appointments at bridal boutiques

So far so good with the planning, but I haven't started on the OOT bags.  I also doing my center pieces for the reception and I still have a lot to get.  Thanks KCB2011 for the website info.
