    Ladies!

Do you think it would look odd to do a pop of color in my necklace for my Punta Cana beach wedding?  We do not have a wedding party, so we don't have a "wedding color".  Just me in my white dress, white veil, white orchid in my hair.  DH in his khaki linen pants and white linen shirt.  so no color anywhere other than flowers.  I'm debating getting a necklace that has a pop of color, I'd love to find something that has some turquoise color stones or beads or some iridescent color or something, just something to add "tropical type color"  Below are a couple of examples.

my dress is strapless chiffon, overall pretty simple so I think it could handle a stronger necklace.  I was thinking something that is long that I would wrap around 2 or 3 times to create a little bit of a chunky look, or something that is multi-strand so already chunky.

Has anyone done or seen this done?

    thanks!

    some examples:

I like how this first one has some color but it is not overwhelming color.  I think the chunky style might lend itself nicely to a simple dress and a casual beach setting??

Number two isn't exactly what I had in mind, it is the best pic I could find of a colorful pop.  I think I lean more toward turquiose bluish colors like the ocean??

I am personally going to stay very conservative with my jewelry (white pearls and silver) because I want to make sure that the dress is the focus.  However, I am a girl that on a daily basis only has on a watch and my engagement ring so having on a lot of bright jewelry on my wedding day would be abnormal for me and might cause me some regret when I looked at the pictures after the fact.  As my jewelry will be colorless and my dress will be white, I am having a fuschia hair flower that will match my fuschia shoes.

But I think if you are the type of girl that loves to wear colorful jewelry and that is part of your "thing" then I think you should go for it.  Just remember that you will be looking at pictures from this day for a long time to come, so think of whether it will look strange to have color or not to have color based on your personal fashion style.

You could totally rock a turquoise necklace or earrings or something that has multiple strands:

          thanks so much ladies!

Clgriff: point well taken, I will have to be careful to choose something I really love and that has a more timeless look yet still get the chunky look I'm after.  I don't want to look a few years from now and cringe...so nothing too trendy!

LaraJo: thanks for the pics!!!  I think I definitely want to do something turquoise or multistrand and chunky (or both!)  Besides, turquoise has been around forever, so it won't be too "trendy" years from now. yay!

          thanks!

I wanted a bit of colour in my necklace but didn't want to wear anything too trendy or anything that was too much and took away from my dress...this is what I found and I think it will work perfectly. necklace.jpg

I had the same thought too - my wedding colors are shades of blue so I thought it might be nice to have some bit of color in the necklace (my flowers will be white calla lilies so there won't even be color there!)  I was thinking something subtle like a mix of clear and light blue stones but have not found anything yet.  Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking about this.

                      Thanks ladies!

Every year they have this craft show here called The One of a Kind and it features independent artists and I came across this ladies booth. As soon I saw the necklace on display I new it was perfect.

I am getting married in May and plan on having a post-wedding sale which I will likely include this necklace. Not sure when everyone's dates are but if you are interested in buying it after my wedding (will be available after May 23rd) let me know and I can get in touch with you after the date. It is sterling silver so it doesn't feel flimsy or anything like that.

Hope everyone finds what they are looking for! :)
