Start early as far as the passports are concerned, if she doesn't sign them you can have the courts issue a document but not sure how that works (check out the passport website though).  I'm not sure if the kids are boys or girls, however; depending flower girls, ring bearer and one assist you down the aisle.  Sandy ceremony (blended family).

I love the kids as they are my own. They live with us during the week (no court orders) because she cant provide for them and get them to school. We need yo go to court, but there is always that chance she will get custody. For the most part, everything works in our favor and the kids are happy, healthy, and taken care of, so thats all that matters. We are worries that she won't sign the passport forms for them to come with us. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to incorporate the FI's twins in the wedding ceremony. I want them included, but I still want the wedding to be about us.

Hope all is well with everyone I need some help, hopefully I don't get in trouble for posting this here.  I seen on the site a sand ceremony that included like several people, DH has 4 kids so I need that wording for our reception but I can't find it now.  Have any of you used it or know where I can find it, it's sooooo many threads under sand ceremony.

Hi all,

I'm pretty new here and I'm having lots of fun discovering all these great forums!

My fiancé and I are getting married in March in Mexico and I have one step-daughter who just turned 10. I've been with her father since she was 4 and as she lives with us full time I am her main parental provider. But we have a really  great relationship with her mother. The three of us have pretty much re-written the book on how raise a child with multiple parents. The relationship I have with my step-daughter's mother is particularly shocking to most people because not only do we not hate each other, but we're friends and we often do things as the two mom's and daughter.

But it's not all roses. I'm only 26 (where as my fiancé is 37) and I often struggle with the fact that friends from college are traveling the world and seemingly doing great things with their time before settling down, while I've got mom-taxi duty, an endless supply of laundry and a moody pre-teen. But, obviously I wouldn't trade any part of it.

I'm currently wobbling on the fence for deciding whether or not to have another child. Maybe I'll start another topic for that though :)

I'm also open to any questions, just ask!

Jessica

Hi ladies,

FI and I started pre-maritial counseling a week ago and the counselor touched on FI being the force behind his daughter realizing that he and I will be "ONE" (although it may hurt him & she may push back).  Session 2 of 6 on the 27th of April.  But she will work with us and give us alternative ways to make sure that "this will not be a driving force with us."

I pray that each of you are transitioning well.

Hi Ladies, so glad I found this forum. I'm 23 and my FI is 38. He has a 13 yr old son that lives 8 hours away with my FI's ex-wife. Yes, that makes me closer in age to my FSS than my FI. My FI and I have been together about a year and because of the distance, I've only met FSS twice. My FI and his ex had a very messy divorce and a not so great relationship. She kept his son away from him for the past 4 years. Well, in June we went down to Florida for a week. It went well. She was nice (to my face) and despite some drama we had a good vacation. We managed to make it down again a few weeks ago for a weekend trip. That was even more drama and miscommunication. I know that FI eventually wants to have him for the summer or even full time now that FSS is old enough to make the decision for himself. He's such a great kid and although the ex is slightly crazy, I'm blessed to have him and my FI in my life.

It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one going through this!

Hi everyone,

We are about to become a blended family...I have 1 daughter age 9, FI has 3 daughter ages 17, 15 and 12.  So far we have not had many problems getting along, other than a few issues with the ex-wife's boundaries. If this is the worst it gets, I'll be happy with that because I've seen how others have had some pretty crazy situations.  This forum will be great to refer to if advice is needed in the future!

Hi Ladies!

I'm also new to this site and this thread is AMAZING!

I have a 5yr old and my fiance has a 4 yr old. I've been around his child since he was 2.

My child totally interacts with my fiance and she loves him to pieces.

BUT.....

HIS son refuses to COMMUNICATE with me.

He cries when he has to stay at our house.

It's gotten so bad that my fiance sleeps at his mom's house when he has his son.

I REALLY NEED SOME ADVICE!!

*Please help*

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
