November 2011 Brides!!! All Destinations

I think it is perfectly OK to have the bridesmaids carry different flowers. That was the case at a friends recent wedding ... she carried orange calla lillies and her bridesmaids carried an assortment of fall flowers. They looked beautiful!

I am set on callas as well ... bright green ones that I have seen and my bridesmaids will carry similar bouquets only their callas will be ivory instead of green.

Here's a pic of what I want that I sent the florist in Costa Rica. I love the way it looks and hope the florist can recreate it!!

Carrie-I believe I am going to do orange cala lilies for my bouquet. For the centerpieces I am unsure-do you ladies know what flower choices there are in orange and fuschia? I think with the bridesmaid bouquet's I was thinking orange lilies and pink gerbera daisies. Do you girls think that is ok or do you feel like the type of flowers in a bride bouquet should match the bridesmaid's? I think the orange lilies will be a brighter color than the cala lillies but I'm SET on cala's! I love them!

I think you can do whatever you want for flowers as long as the colours tie them together. I don't think they have to match the bridesmaids.

I'm in Calgary! Funny, there are a lot of Alberta brides on this site! :)

Jen, great choice I love Calla lillies too. I am thinking of having fuschia roses and Orange gerberas and giving the bridesmaids pink roses. Although I do think its really lovely when brides and bridesmaids have different flowers. And anyway its your day you can have whatever you like as long as you are happy with it :-) So jenk and jbean - where are abouts are you staying?

We are staying at the Dreams Tulum, in the Mayan Riviera too for a week and are also getting married there and then moving to Secrets Silversands, Cancun for the second week. My MIL and a few friends are going to DT for two weeks so we thought we have a bit of time on our own and go somewhere luxurious :-)

I have heard good things about the Valentin!

Have you booked a photographer?

Hi, we are getting married at the Barcelo Maya Palace in November. We are going to Mexico for 18 nights, spending the first 12 nights at the Barcelo Maya Palace, then 2 days after the wedding we are moving to Excellence Riviera Cancun (Adults only resort) for a further 6 nights to make it feel like a honeymoon by switching resorts.
Our primary color theme is yellow, but going to add some orange in as well. Love the pink and orange mix as well girls!
For flowers I think I'm going to go with all white, but I am so torn on this! A yellow and orange mix would be fabulous, but I also love the all white!

Carrie - that is smart to switch to another resort. I was leaning that way too, but Fi didn't want to move. :P We have some family staying 2 weeks as well, but they promised to give us space for week 2. lol.

I booked Juan Navarro for our photographer... that was a tough decision as pics are one of the only thing I really care about, but our budget was limited. Did you book one yet?

Joanne - wow! 18 days? Now that's a REAL vacation! lol.

I know my fi didn't want to move either but I badgered him till he gave in ;-). Wow joanne that is a long break lucky you! Jbean I have heard good things about Juan navarro, his work is good considered him ourselves. We have booked Sascha Gluck, persuaded fi to stretch on the budget, like you photos are SO important to me. Are you doing a trash the dress?

Amanda-I love your bouquet! Beautiful :) I am very envious that you are getting married in Costa Rica...we wanted to but the longer flight deterred us (my dad is afraid to fly, so hopefully a shorter direct flight helps!).

Carrie and JBean-sounds like you guys have a nice extended vacation! We are only going for a week in November to Cabo. We are waiting to go on our honeymoon until December and we are going to Australia. I'm very excited! I have been there once before and LOVED it! My FI hasn't been yet so it will be fun :) I booked my photographer but she is based in Cabo-Gilda Badillo. I've heard great things about both Juan and Sascha on this forum!

Joanne-I have heard the excellence is UNBELIEVABLE! I know people that have gone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
