Thanks - I'll definitely look into the Poop deck - those drinks sound fun!  I really am fine with something low key - I just think some of the other girls may try to make it more of a "party" so I want to know the options.

Thanks for the Rehearsal dinner suggestions.  Procell, how are your guests getting to the Sunrise Beach Club?

I also got MUCH lower rates for my rooms.  So low that the Comfort Inn just couldn't match it.  It was through Atlantis directly but then again my wedding is in Dec a week or so before Xmas so rates are usually lower

KrazedTrader, I'm having my guests get to sunrise beach on their own, since my they are not all staying at one hotel.  It's really not far for anyone staying on paradise island so I figured they can walk or talk a cab if they really want.  But I am having a shuttle transport everyone on the day of the wedding from the ceremony at sunrise beach to the reception at Luciano's, and back.  Not sure what company is providing the shuttle - my WC just told me she reserved 2 shuttles for me.  Sorry, that probably doesn't help you much!

Porcell,

I don't know if you are using Jose Ageeb as your DJ but he's awesome at coming up with great party suggestions.  I'm thinking maybe you could ask him where to have your Bachlorette Party.  I know he DJ's on the island and might be able to hook your group up.

Also,  I'm starting to think about Rehearsal Dinner Venues.  Since our wedding is going to be on the more formal side, we were thinking some causal, like a beach bonfire or at the very least a fire dancer.  Anyone have any recommendations?

That was me about the bachelorette and I actually did e-mail Jose the same time I posted here.  He did have some good suggestions but I guess I'm just not that into it.  He also had some for rehearsal dinner like a harbor cruise.  I liked that but am trying to keep it simple.  Another Atlantis bride was having her welcome party outside with just a dessert bar and a fire dancer.  That's a good option if you don't want to have a full blown meal.  I'm having a welcome party at one of the pool bars (not private) and just running a tab for our guests - my WC suggested making some drink tickets so the bartender knows who is allowed to charge to our tab.  We're stopping by a grocery store on the way from the airport to pick up snacks for the OOT bags so we'll also pick up some munchies for at the bar - just little stuff because people will be headed to dinner on their own.

We're definitely stopping by the grocery store on Bay St to help fill our OOT bags.

We stayed at the Atlantis, and while we had a great time, we were shocked by the price of food and beverages!

We're going to put 2 bottles of water in each bag and we're thinking about purchasing  tortuga rum cakes for each one...

Hey Girls,

I tried to post a review on my photographer, Dede Brown but it was erased because it should have been posted under the Reviews thread.  I'm waiting for Dede to be added so that I can post my review.  Until then, I'll add a couple of pictures and let them speak for themselves.

I think I'm allowed to post her contact email, but I'm not sure.  If you are interested, send me a pm and I'll send it to you.

So glad that I've been able to help you girls.  Wedding planning has been so much fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
