Has anyone done a deep sea fishing excursion???

We are travelling in May ... my dad really wants to take the guys out to do this... but Island Routs is over $200 pricing per person.. a little much.

Has anyone done a catamaran thing?  I'd love to rent a boat for our group for the day - just go out on the water and snorkel.. hang out and drink!  I saw somewhere that one bride paid like $60 per person which doesn't sound bad.  I just can't remember where I saw that?

Also, I have done the canopy tours in Jamaica and they are a lot of fun!!!  Would definitely recommend.

We are doing a catamaran after our wedding in July.  It'll be exactly how you mentioned- we'll dance, drink, swim, and snorkel.  We're going through Cruise Adventures Jamaica, and it'll be around $60-70 a person, depending on how many people go.

I acutally got a reply from Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours.  Here is what they said.... I think the price they quoted is pretty good - especially if we have a large number of people.  Because if we have 100 people, $60 a person would be $6,000 total.  This would be max $4425 for 100 people.  We're not sure how many people will be attending the wedding.  If it's only around 50 than maybe the per person makes sense?

In the $60-$70 you were quoted - does that include transportation from the hotel?

That does seem pretty good.  Yes, the price I was quoted included round-trip transportation.

We are going to do a catamaran too for our guests, making it optional, my travel agent is working with the charter company right now so I will keep you posted. ALSO we are going to Montego Bay May 12 to do a site visit at the Iberostar (22 days WOO!) and the two of us are 100% doing the catamaran so hopefully we will be able to talk to them in person and get a good rate. I'll keep you guys posted. We did the trip two years ago and the catamaran was the absolute highlight of our trip, it was so much fun and we want to share that with our guests. I can only imagine how much fun its going to be having it rented out with just our friends and family.

Awesome!  Yes, please let me know how it is! and what company you are going through.  We plan to do the same for our guests - charter the catamaran and make it optional for guests, but i hope everyone comes!  Another thing, we for sure have 3 kids attending the wedding - my brother who will be 15 and my FI's cousins (who are in our bridal party) and will be 8 and 10 at the wedding.  Do you think the catamaran is appropriate for them - especially since it will be only our guests and not random people?  I know the lady I have been speaking with at Island Routes said yes, but i'd like another opinion - preferably from someone who has been on it before.

                    Thanks!

                    And have an awesome trip!

Well when we went last year we did the 3pm one which was the later trip specifically because they said that kids/families generally don't go on the later trip (they tend to book the 11am catamaran) So kids DO go on them however the one we went on it was a pretty rowdy crowd-so rowdy that they didn't let some of the people snorkel  because they were wasted beyond belief and then those people stayed at margaritaville, on the way back the workers gave the women foot massages and some got a little raunchy- I mean I'm 24 and I felt uncomfortable watching 50 year old women getting their feet licked... BUT with all that being said it's not gonna be like that if you have a private charter. I think the age of the kids that your having will LOVE it, the snorkeling is AMAZING so pretty and they have so many guides to show you around, and margaritaville is super fun too!  I will keep you posted with updates next month!!!
