BUT with all that being said it's not gonna be like that if you have a private charter. I think the age of the kids that your having will LOVE it, the snorkeling is AMAZING so pretty and they have so many guides to show you around, and margaritaville is super fun too!  I will keep you posted with updates next month!!!

We did do the dreamer this time, we paid 60 each and were quoted 35(ish) each if we were to do it privately. I have not emailed anyone yet about any of  the catamarans because we have NO CLUE how many people are going to come (we invited 130 and are getting "we will 100% be there from EVERYONE) but who knows how many people are going to actually follow through- I figured I would get more of a price point when we get people actually booking... As far as food goes I don't really know how necessary it really is. We had the most amazing time and didn't even think about food. Personally after doing the dreamer two times I think I'm going to go with them reguardless- the crew is AMAZING so much fun. WIth all of that being said it is Jamaica and everything has a price, I'm sure they could do a food thing for you if you really wanted

We booked a private catamaran cruise for the day after our wedding through Island Routes. I think they quoted us somewhere around $3,300 for a 3-hour cruise WITH transfers to/from our hotel. We will have about 40-50 people so I thought that was pretty reasonable.

Hope that helps!

I jsut wanted to post now that i am back from my wedding in Jamaica...

I actually posted before I left looking for info about deep sea fishing but didnt find anything.

The guys wanted to do a half day.. 4 hour.. fishing trip before the weddding and I was looking for rates. So for anyone interested in deep sea fishing (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!)

Here are the details:

We booked privately through Stanley's fishing in Negril. We were quoted $80 per person ... the resort charged $180 per person through a tour company (who probably contract out Stanley). We were picked up at our resort and brought to Negril. The boat we went on was unbelievable!! It was a beautiful fishing yacht equipped with so many rods and reels. Now, I am not a fisher by any means... yes we went to the lake a few times when we were younger and fished for sunfish and pike... but fishing isnt something I would go out of my way to do. The guys only ended up with 9 guys committing due to hangovers, etc... soooo 3 of us girls decided to tag along as well... and im SOOOO GLAD!!! This fishing trip was the fishing trip of a lifetime.

We went over 10 miles off shore. It was absolutely beautiful out there... we  ended up catching 12 skipjack tuna and 1 barracuda!!! IT was so much fun and Stanley and his assistant were amazing people... they were fun and told us a lot about the fish and sea and what's down there and out there. They told us what to look for and we spotted soem birds diving.. Stanley changed course and went directly for the birds..because that meant fish. Sure enough we caught 5 skipjack tunas... and the boys let me reel one in myself!!! It's definitely harder than it looks :) We brought 4 tuna back to the resort..Stanley and his first mate cut us some tuna steaks and fillets... The resort cooked them up an served them with rice and jerk sauce. It was unbelievable!!!!!

I have posted a few pics on my profile (cant upload them in here for some reason) if anyone wants to see the boat and our catch!

I absolutely recommend Stanley's Fishing for ANYONE travelling to Jamaica who is interested in deep sea fishing.

I have been getting quotes for 70-100 people.  We invited about 240 so it just depends who ends up coming.. Same here, everyone tells us they are 100% coming but we will see...

I contacted Dreamers... For 75 people they quoted me $5625 (plus 10% government tax AND $75 per person over 75...).  The price is for a private 3 hour charter, transfers to/from the hotel, music, open bar, snorkling and a stop at Margaritaville.  Food is not included (and is an extra $12 per person).

I have another quote from Island Routes tours - $3000 flat rate for up to 110 people and $12 per person for transfers.  The price is for a private 3 hour charger, music, open bar, food, snorkling and a stop at Margaritaville.  This right now is obviously the better deal but it depends how many people travel with us.

If you got those prices, apparently they are really good because they won't give me those prices...  Here is the email I got back when I told her about your prices...

Hi Allie,   I think you must be mistaken. Our 3 hour scheduled tour sells for US$72.00 per person inclusive of tax and our private charters usually come out to more. Please bare in mind you are requesting rates for next year and those rates may be even more than US$75.00 per person.   There are no catamarans here that sell for US$35.00. It is the glass bottom boats that sell for that price.   Our largest catamaran can comfortably accommodate up to 110 passengers.   Please let me know if you need any further information.   Regards,   Wanda Hendriks   Dreamer Catamarans

Hey Allie, I was going to comment on the catamaran prices .... because I was just at the Grand Palladium last month and couldn't get anywhere close to $35 for a catamaran! We called a few places and the absolute cheapest we could find was exactly what you were quoted ... about $75 per person. I think kfarkas26 was mistaken with her prices.

We paid 60 a person for the catamaran(dreamer) which was a resort wide price. When I talked to our travel agent they said that for a private tour she said she has gotten prices for her private tours to around 35 a person for the dreamer- food not included.  I don't know what tour you went on for 75 but the dreamer which goes to the montego bay marine park, and margaritaville with open jamaican bar (rums, sodas, rum punch and red stripe) is $60 per person

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
