Thanks so much for the tip. I would love glass ones so everyone will keep them and take them home, but plastic does seem like the practical choice as far as getting them all there in our luggage. Our OOT bag list is getting pretty long and we are having more guests than expected! I don't know how we will get it all there!

I sort of assumed they were glass and was dissappointed at first, but then thought in Cuba, plastic was going to do better anyhow.

I am loving the idea of adding so many personal touches to your OOT bags. My FI and I met in a similar situation so these are some great ideas to share our lives with everyone! Also, I know my guests will love a good drinking game! haha

For example my fi and I met in Cancun during spring break and that week we played a lot of the drinking game king's cup. So we're printing out the rules of the game on our wedding letter head and laminating them, and including an explaination of why the game is special. My fi also worked at a casino for a long time, so we're getting playing cards from that casino to include in the bags. Fi is now a police officer so we're think adding in some fake hand cuffs might be fun. We're also including pool floaties and bubba kegs - also reminiscent of that fateful spring break!

Dasha, please let me know how these turn out. I saw these too and thought about getting them. I already ordered some elsewhere, but I'd just like to know for future reference.

I gave personalized beach towels a few years back to my brother and sister in law to be. Not having a huge budget, I bought a set from a beach resort surf shop at end of season, and had my mom embroider them on her sewing machine. Total cost, $5 per towel and they looked amazing!

You just have to find someone with an embroidery sewing machine. The store that my mom bought her machine from caters to these cute ladies who LOVE sewing, and are always working on quilts and demo-ing stuff. They would probably get a huge kick out of helping with a wedding. If you have the time and patience, I'd call around and get some price quotes!

  • 2 weeks later...

So I got the can cozies from Oriental trading and they are pretty cheply made. A little fraying here and there. I did pay only $5 for 5o of them, but they are not my star item. The hibiscus flower beach bags on the other hand look great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
