Azul Beach Hotel - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello! I just found this thread and am so thrilled! We are getting married at Azul beach this December and feel sort of lost. Your information has been so helpful!! We will only be having around 25 ppl and can't decide if we should just have dinner at Blue International or have our own private reception. Anyone been in the same situation? Not enough people for Blue Terrace but sounds amazing. We have a coordinator, but unless I know the right question to ask she isn't really volunteering any information or options. Just sending me to the lomas site for everything.

They can't confirm a wedding rehearsal until we arrive, has that happened to anyone else? And for the couples that had a cocktail hour at Wave Lounge before the reception, did you have to arrange for a 2 hour cocktail party through the banquet catalog, or did everyone just show up in the same place?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, I am soooo excited! cheesy.gif

Hey Tracey,

Congratulations! You will have a fantastic time at Azul Beach. Our wedding was last October, and it was AMAZING! If it were me, I'd arrange a private reception if you can. The beach is an option for 25 people, or I'm pretty sure you can do receptions at the Wave Lounge or the outside deck at Chil as well with that number (at least you could when I was planning).

We didn't have an exact "wedding rehearsal" at all. Did any other brides out there? I just didn't feel like I needed one, but I'm sure you could make it happen. You can also just plan one, with your wedding party, impromptu. Are you having your ceremony on the beach? That beach gazebo canopy thingy is there all the time, so you could probably just walk through the elements of the ceremony pretty much any time you want.

You will have a LENGTHY meeting with the wedding planners once you get there. Ours was the second day we were there, two days before the wedding. They went through every single element of our contract, and detail sheet from start to finish and make sure every aspect of the entire day is covered (including any other private events you might have). They were great to work with, and so accommodating!

I'm not sure I totally understand your last question about the cocktail party. We had a private cocktail party the night before the wedding (in place of a rehearsal dinner) and we also had one after the ceremony at Wave Lounge. One was included as an incentive for booking with our travel agent, and the other we chose a cocktail package from the Karisma Banquet Catalog.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I have LOTS of pictures from my wedding, and lots of pictures of the property. I took a lot when I was there because picturing everything was a hard thing for me when I was planning because we booked having never been to the resort before. Anyway, have fun!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi there!!

Caribe is still one of the preferred photographers at the Azul resorts. Royale Photo the other approved photographer, and it appears that Claudia Photography Studio has a couple of packages listed. They are still charging the $800 fee for outside vendors.

While the El Dorados do have more photographers, both Caribe & Royale's options are outlined in this post in the EDR/EDCR thread which may be helpful.

Here's the Lomas site with all of the options:

Good luck, and happy planning!

Is there a big difference in quality?

Hi Jenny,

When I updated the EDR/EDCR thread, I wasn't able to find a website with more info on Royale Photo to see examples. I would ask your wedding coordinator at Lomas if they can provide a gallery or examples to review.

Caribe does have a website, where you can view some of the past weddings they've shot. I also included their link in the EDR/EDCR thread.

Sorry I'm not able to offer more info!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
