I have most of the bigger stuff figured out (got a dress, put deposits on vendors, invitations sent!) Now its on to the actual ceremony/reception details! I have a few questions...

Does anybody have any pics of the reception area choices? I looked online but couldn't find anything great. I think I am leading towards blue terrace as I like the open feeling, but did anybody find that it was too windy? And what about centerpieces? If I were to choose something tall would the wind knock it down? My one idea for centerpieces is to go to Cancun during one of the days prior to the wedding and buy some glass vases. I'm not too picky about the shape or size but I envision them being tall and round cylinders with blooms underwater. Do you think that will be heavy enough to not tip over? And would it be too much having those and also a medium sized flower arrangement among them? Thoughts!?!?

Also- Is the giant chandelier in blue terrace still there? I really love it and hope it is! I might hang a few lanterns around it but I think its really pretty on its own!

Ashley-

There are a handful of chandelier's at Blue Terrace. They all look the same, and yes, they look great and are very pretty on their own. I have a few pictures of the Terrace on my flickr account. Feel free to take a look. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaelamcdougall/

Hi Taryn,

I'm getting married on June 7, 2013, and I am being charged $800.00 for every outside vendor. May I ask who your WC is? Mine is Elizabeth Riff and she told me in our first conversations back in April that there was no getting around this fee...I would be curious to know if yours told you differently...

Thanks so much!

Randi

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to report that we have added a new member to the BDW Team (and hope to add more in the near future!).

Congratulations to Miriam (Murmel).  Miriam has done an amazing job helping Azul Sensatori Brides and will now work on being the Brand Specialist for all of the Karisma Hotels (Azul Sensatori, Azul Beach, Azul Fives, El Droado Maroma, El Dorado Seaside, El Dorado Royal & El Dorado Casitas).

She will pretty much continue doing what she has been doing, which is helping BDW brides!

Welcome to the BDW Team, Miriam!

Yay! Me and my girls picked out the bridesmaids dresses this weekend! We got them from David's Bridal in Vancouver for a great price (115.00 each) and they look really good on. I originally wanted coral as part of my colors but figured it was hard to find the perfect coral and then coordinating decorations. So I decided to do a light blush pink or even a champagne color, since it is easy to match in different hues. However, DB didn't have what we wanted in those colors! Waaah!!! SO we went with the coral there (which I LOVE!) and now it's back to the original coral scheme!  I would like some opinions on a few things if you girls don't mind! :

1. Did anyone else base their "theme" colors on the dresses they found??

2. Do you think I can make the DB coral color go with the modern, vintage, beachy theme I am going for?

3. Should I keep it simple and stick with light colors (blush, ivory, sand, with the coral), or add in a soft mint or turquoise for some "pop"?

I am so indecisive with things so I really need help (at least a little push!) with decisions. Especially since their are so many options for everything out there nowadays! undecided.gif

Also, is anyone here getting married at AB on or around July 4,2013? Hoping to find someone out there that would like to maybe coordinate decorations/supplies if we have similar colors in order to reduce packing/cost. If anyone is interested shoot me a message, or just let me know if you are getting married around that time and we can get together for a drink and chat!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
