Azul Beach Hotel - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Melfabik-we are expecting hopefully about 20 people plus B & G (and our 2 kiddos of course).  I am so interested in the terrace! I haven't heard about that yet, when will it be ready?  I too am from Colorado (I sent you a PM, I think you and my fiance went to school together!)  What a small world-3 of us Colorado girls getting married at Azul Beach!

Hi!

I am not sure when the terrace will be done...It was suppose to be done for my wedding but it looks like it won't.  They will not tell you exactly when it will be done but ask your wedding coordinator about it so they know you are interested in it.

Such a small world!  I grew up with Mike (we used to call him Mikey cheesy.gif ) and I went to elementary, middle and high school with him!  My maid of honor is Kari Hamilton...She was also friends with your fiance.  We all used to be good friends in elementary school.  Crazy!

We still need to figure out our guest book.  Have you decided anything on your guest book yet?

Wow!  That is so funny you know Mikey!  Most people still call him Mikey, and I do too usually, but often he is "Dad" instead cheesy.gif

I was going to have a photobooth and have my guests put their pictures in a book and sign next to it.  I am thinking more now that I want to take our engagement photos and make a book online with space for the guests to sign.  I don't really know though, I was really set on the photobooth, but now that we are going to Mexico, I don't think that will be happening!  Oh well, save it for a birthday party instead!

Hi Ladies!  So happy there is a thread just for the AB as it can get pretty hairy in the Sensatori thread.  Love the creativity in this thread - you guys are awesome!

I am hoping to book the AB in the next few days for end of November 2011, but we had our hearts set on Villa Carola as our wedding site but they are quoting rack rates which are outrageous and could push us to our number 2 choice.

We went on a site visit 2 week-ends ago and the food was great, service seemed impeccable, however they were not very flexible.  We think it is a beautiful place to stay and get married, but I would be prepared that you have to follow their prescribed rules and set up pretty well or pay extra for every little detail.  They are quoting an $800 per vendor fee for any vendor you use that is not on their list - which is  the highest we have seen, plus when you go to the Lomas website, the prices for all the wedding particulars are very high.

That said, my FI and I are still hoping we can get the Villa at the right price and if so, we will then lock n' load and invite our guests to book their 20-30 rooms.

I will provide a full site visit, once we firm up our details as we visited MANY places like Ceiba Del Mar, Dreams Tulum, Ana Y Jose, Be Tulum, Le Reve, La Amada, Grand Velas, La Essencia, Al Cielo, La Zebra, Now Sapphire as well as Azul Beach.

Let's help each other out :)

Alright ladies, Booked at AB for Novemebr 24th, 2011. Hope the trouble you were experiencing has all been resolved. How's the planning going? Now that contracts are almost signed, I have toget to the real work, Invitations, wedding site, theme,decor...So glad there are resources like this site to lend a helping hand! Question: I am being quoted 800$ per ouside vendor I plan on using...I have read some posts where people are quoting 500$. do you guys know if ere is any wiggle room in this? Also, is it true if you buy your bridesmaids buoquets at a local flower market day before the wedding, they will charge you??? What have you all experienced? Thanks Marianne

Melissa - your wedding is coming up soon! Can't wait to hear all about it and see pictures. I'm sure it'll be fabulous! What are you doing for your flowers? Marianne- I believe it's when you sign your contract which let's you know how much you have to pay per additional vendor fee. I thought it was crazy they should just let you pay once and you should be able to use your own vendors but it doesn't work that :(. I had to see what was really important. So far it's photographer, DJ and hair/makeup (have to book them soon) that are not in the recommended vendor list. I still have less than a year to go so we'll see what else we'll add. I'm working on invitations now. Hopefully they'll be sent out in the first week of June. Once that's done I am going to look into flowers/centerpieces. I'm not sure about the flower situation in regards to bouquets. Are the AB brides's names all start with "M" Is anyone switching to another of the other Karisma hotels for their honeymoon? I think we're going to have a mini moon and maybe in 6 months do something different. Happy planning ladies!! Maritza

My fee's for outside vendors were 500, but i believe it has to do with when you signed your contract.  Most of my planning is done, we really just need to pick out our songs and invitation wording. I would try to plan ahead as much as possible, becuase I have noticed that they keep jacking up the prices!  Center pieces went up since i booked!

Melissa,

I can't wait to hear all about your wedding!  You must be so excited!

Congrats Marianne on picking s great resort!  I am getting married there on 5-28-11 and still have some work to do before I leave for Mexico on 5-24-11!

The outside vendor fee was $500 but they raised it to $800 but you may be able to get some wiggle room as we had a little bit of luck.

I am not sure about the the bridesmaid bouquets...They did tell me that we could not bring our own flowers in and had to use them for flowers unless you pay the outside vendor fee.

Hi Maritza!

I know I can't believe our wedding is right around the corner!  I wish I had another year to plan...I waited until the last minute on a lot of things and still have a ton to do! :(

I changed my mind a few times on the centerpieces and we finally decided to go simple with fuschia roses.

We were going to book a Karisma resort for our mini honeymoon but decided to go with something different to get more of a change. We booked Secrets Maroma!

Did you book a photographer or videographer yet?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
