The resorts typically don't modify their wedding packages and substitute things within them.  If it includes something you don't want you can just forfeit it but no reduction in package price.  I also want to get married at this resort in Nov 2012, I've been here before, it's amazing!!

I'm also looking at MLD and find this forum lacks a bit, but the facebook page is awesome!!  I am going DEC 2012, and already have the trip package prices from Edmonton at $1400 per person, so I'm going to jump on that!  That's a great rate!

For the weddings have you looked at www.weddingcubachannel.com??  That's where you find the package info for the Melia's in Cuba.

Good luck!

Hello DwBride2B,

If you need any info, don't hesitate to contact me. I can help you with that hotel and for the wedding reservation, you must be in contact with a travel agent and the travel agent will contact Sol Melia. We have to proceed that way in Montreal. Sorry for my English... I usually speak French.

Congratulations!

We are also going there to get married. We are there April 12-19, 2012. Our wedding date is confirmed for the 16th. Did they cofirm your date yet? Are you going with a group? We got engaged there last April - AMAZING! Were you there before? Did you qualify for the free wedding?

Hi, I am getting married at Laguna Azul in Veradero in August 2012 BUT I have been to a wedding at Melia Las Dunas. They used the gazebo which is very nice but if you are having more than 20 guests it gets quite crowded. The ceremony was beautiful and right after everyone proceeded to the beach for photographs. Reception dinner was held at the Italian Restaurant which again was amazing. This resort is a little older but verywell maintained and the staff here were top notch, great service, best gardeners I have ever seen or met. They actually made our trip 100 times better. As soon as you wake up and leave your room we were greeted by them with beautiful tropical flowers for our hair. This was a daily event (nice way to start each day in Paradise) The ceremony itself was 25 minutes late but thats just the Cuban way, no rush or punctuality for anything. Just after speaking with the bride and groom (which are family) everything went very smooth and as far as a guests perspective it was AMAZING. The cost for that wedding without the package and dinner etc was 1440 per person but they did book extremely early which makes it a little higher. Good Luck.

Hi i'm just wondering when you all booked your weddings for MLD did you go through LUXE. As well i'm confused as i was told we need to get 10 adults to put down a deposit on rooms to get a group code, only thing is we still don't even have any idea if our date is available and haven't even sent out the save the dates yet so how can we get people to book if we dont have any idea about our wedding yet...HELP!?

For anyone who has been married here... I really would like to get married here, but I have read they can do up to 6 weddings a day which just seems crazy! But has anyone felt rushed or like that interfered with your day at all?

Thanks~

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
