Finally!

I am just outside of Montego Bay, in Trelawny.. The resort was cheap and family oriented, which is good for us considering we have many friends, including myself, whom are still students.. and we also have quite a few children coming.  They offer a kids camp that does a circus class and flying trapeeze lessons!

Aww that sounds amazing celticgirl! i love that you're taking your guests' family needs into consideration. I'm sure the kids are going to love the trapeze lessons! Well congrats to you and yours.

AMAZING NEWS, this is so great to hear  Edna!      You know that Sol and I got married at Secret Jewel back in december 2007?   Our wedding slideshow is here:  http://delsolphotography.com/adventures/laboda/

Your wedding plan has come together well, glad Melissa could be of help with you making things happen.  I've been reading most the correspondence coming in so I'm somewhat familiar with your messages of late :)  We LOVE your venues and the added element of culture makes our creative juices TAKE OFF!!! Saludos!

Yes I have definitely changed my mind. We have decided to go with Hacienda Tres Rios Resort in Playa Del Carmen, MX for early September 2012. I will have the Catholic Ceremony at Secret Jewel and the Hindu ceremony at the resort. We want to have Yazmin De La Mora as our planner and Del Sol as our photogs! We plan to book most things next month and you guys come August/September. I am so excited. We stayed at Le Reve during our recent trip and although I agree it is insanely beautiful (ahem Bungalow Suite) it was a bit too relaxed and quiet for what we are looking to provide for our wedding guests, some of whom will be there first time to Mexico or even leaving the U.S.! Hacienda pretty much has it all! BTW Melissa (yes I have been in talks with her) told me about an upcoming Hindu/Catholic wedding in September of THIS year! I am looking forward to those photos as well.

Thanks for the tips Matt. I canâ€t wait to have SICK wedding photos from you guys.

Thanks Matt! And yes I do know you and Sol were married there. Yazmin had informed me of this when we did a site visit back in March...makes me feel as if everything is destined!

    • Hello Everyone, I am new here, I heard about this site from a friend of mine that had a destination wedding back in 2012 which was beautiful.  I am leaning towards the DR if I find a place that has all that I am looking for if not Mexico is another great option. Thinking of May 2020 if that is enough time to plan this! I like modern looks, all inclusive for sure.  I definitely want the beach very very close to the pools and rooms, a swim up bar is a must.  I really like the idea of the swim ups in the rooms if possible.  I am going to have friends that bring their kids so it can't be adult only.  I do want to get married on the beach which seems like most of the all inclusive resorts offer. My friend got married at the SENSATORI AZUL BEACH RESORT RIVIERA MAYA and it had all I would want in a resort if anyone has stayed there and has any advice. Thanks for all the help ahead of time.   M&B

    • They forgot the wedding cake topper   Okay, so no big deal - just a once in a lifetime moment. The upsetting part is the wedding coordinator, Dionne, did not seem at all concerned about the mistake. The only reason we got an apology was because we happened to run into her the night before we left. Our wedding was on Saturday we left Wednesday morning. We were told we could escalate our concern to Riu corporate, the wedding coordinator doesn’t have a supervisor on site. Riu corporate said they did their best and apologized. Brides, go to Jamaica, get married, but do yourself a favor and do not go to a Riu resort, especially not Riu Negril. I am certain there are other resorts that would have been in touch immediately and tried to make up for their mistake. Not Riu.
