My Christmas Engagement Story

Thought I would share it as I have not shared it with too many people.

So Christmas was 3 days away and my boyfriend, at the time, had put a huge box under the tree. Of course I'm like a, "kid on christmas, so I picked it up and it was pretty heavy. I was thinking a new microwave, as we need one. So Christmas finally comes around and he makes me wait to open that present last, thought that was odd, but oh well. So it was finally time for me to open the big box and to my surprise there's another box inside that one... not too much smaller than the first. I continue opening that one and it's filled with balled up paper and wrapping paper tubes. Then I get near the bottom where I find a hammer, rock, thermos, staple gun (which I was looking for days earlier to hang lights), 2 cans of Pepsi and then finally a small little purple Ben Moss box! I almost peed myself when I saw the box and then thought... it's probably earrings knowing my "boyfriend". So I open the little purple box and find a note... "Ha thought it was that easy, this is pay back for last year. You have to look in the Tree for your present". (The pay back from last year was I had put a note in a little ring box saying... "Will you" and then another note saying "Open the next box already". In the box was a key to his new gun cabinet, but I had been bugging him earlier about just proposing to him if he didn't hurry up.) On with the present in the tree... I looked all around the tree like an idiot looking for "something" until I finally noticed the most beautiful ring hanging from the angel at the top of the tree and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was the best Christmas ever and I totally did not expect it because he always said he would never propose on a holiday. I have never been so happy, other than the day I had my son... which was onty 3 months prior. I was surprised that never noticed the ring in the tree earlier, but he did tell me that he slipped it on the angel when I had went to the bathroom half way through presents. Said he got lucky when I said I had to use the bathroom because he was trying to think of something for me to go get or look for before the last one so he could get it on her.

Just thought I would share... it's nice to think back and remember... this was christmas 2009.
