Beaches Sandy Bay Brides Unite

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies - I am going to be married at Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril, Jamaica on 1-4-12.  They are going through a complete renovation that should be completed later this year - YEAH!  I figured Beaches Negril has a bridal thread so why not start our own for Sandy Bay!

I would love to hear about your experiences w/ the on site coordinators - Chloe from Montego Bay that is helping me in the planning stages has been awesome!

I would also like to hear from ladies that just did the 30min reception - did you bring your own music, was it lame - do you wish you had splurged.

Has anyone utilized the steel drummer - was he worth it?  Do you choose the music he plays?

Thanks ladies!

Nicole

Over half of my guest will be staying at Beaches Sandy Bay so I will let you know how it goes. I think I am going to try the steel drummer so I will also give you feed back on that. I am a little worried about the condition of the resort because trip advisor has some pretty mixed reviews.

I know what you mean.  I too have heard some bad - but more good than bad.  When are you going because my TA/friend is going in February and meeting w/ Chloe the WC and she is also going to take a bunch of pics of the upgrades/renovations!  If there is anything you are interested in seeing let me know (although I have a long list of things I want pics of - lol).

PS - Chloe told me today that we could use starfish for the fower-girl and if we ask on-site WC she will arrange for them to be picked up after the ceremony at no extra cost!  Can you believe it? - something FREE - lol.

LOL! That is great I am interested in seeing the actuall conditions of the rooms and bathrooms. That seems to be what everyone complains about the most from  the reviews I have read. It would be great to see a pic so if I need to tell some of my super pickey guests to say at Beaches Negril. My wedding is not til 07/22/11.

I'll keep you posted - hopefully I can have some pics by mid-Feb.  I will for sure have some verbal info soon after she returns the 1st part of Feb.  I'm hoping they are ditching the bright, bold color scheme.  I know from Chloe my WC, she has said that they have added a club Liquid and Xbox garage for kiddos.

-Managers Beringer Wine and Cheese Cocktail Party time changed to 5:30pm every Monday.
-Thursday Night - White Night “Charity Casino†with proceeds going towards the Sandals Foundation.

The following product improvements were made:

-Sundowner blue canvas roof replaced with new canvas. New colour is sand.
-New Awning placed by Bayside walkway and Piano and Billiards Terrace Area.
-Fixtures with New Beaches Logo (red) placed behind the Front Desk as well as the resort main entrance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
