Help with Bridesmaid Gifts please!

Recommended Posts

I'm doing bags for the ladies. I'm not giving out OOT bags to my guests. We're making a donation to a local school in the DR on everyone's behalf instead. But for my two maids and the Mom's I wanted to acknowledge them more so I've giving them super OOT bags, kinda like you described above - monogrammed beach bag in my wedding colours, a sarong, flip flops, sandal shaped luggage tags, first-aid/oh sh*t kit, some BBW lotion, nail polish and file, a magazine, stainless steel mug, and a tank tops with either MOH,bridesmaid,MOG, MOB, etc. Each bag works out to about $125 each so I figure that's definitely enough....PLUS, I paid for their dresses (they're on their onw for shoes and accessories)! And if I bought them each one big gift instead, I think I'd have a hard time finding one thing that all of them would like and use again. But remember...they're your friends so they'll be pleased either way :)

I am torn! I like the big bag thing, or the big gift option. I am giving my MOH a different OOT bag filled with goodies, and then I was thinking either an excursion for her to enjoy on the trip or diamond earrings to go with her dress.......hmmmmmmm

I did beach bags, with gold haviana flop flops, I was going to just fill beach bag with useful things for vacation and getting ready for wedding, magazine, tissue, lip glass, maybe an emergency kit. I wanted to contribute to their hair so everyone would get there hair done for our pictures....but it's so expensive and I don't want to put pressure in them to spend that kind of money if they can't afford to....

I'm doing personalized bath robes plus a bikini wet bag that I'm personalizing and adding in extra goodies including a "couples" kit ;) plus a regular oot bag!

What is a couples kit?

I saw it on one of the big planning threads (I cannot for the LIFE of me remember her name, unfortunately, nor find the post).  She was in the Healthcare industry, I remember, because she made a joke about safety being important and her staff throwing her a surprise shower.  If that jogs anyone's memory :)

They are going to be little kits that have a couple condoms, lube, etc in there, for the couple.  I'm only doing this for the bridesmaids, since they are all bringing their husbands/serious boyfriend.  I may do it for the groomsman, but probably not as none are married/2 aren't bringing dates (if my FI would get on the ball and ASK them).  Plus my little brother (who will be like 23 lol) has a very religious girlfriend.  And while I am pretty sure they are, since they live together/will be staying in the same room, I'm not sure I want to go there HA!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
