Help with Bridesmaid Gifts please!

Recommended Posts

I'm having trouble deciding what to get my bridesmaids and hoping for some help! I am having my destination wedding in Punta Cana in April, and my only two maids have taken on throwing me a bridal shower and a personal shower in addition to paying
for their trip, dress, and shoes. Needless to say, i'd like to get them something nice! Here are my ideas so far:

Option A) One bigger gift - ideas include:

- A small black or silver Coach purse (approx $150) - something they can use on the trip, the wedding day, and again anytime
after.
- A Kindle
- Bose earbuds and a $50 itunes gift card (big into working out)

Option B) A personalized beach bag ( http://www.exclusivelyweddings.com/Weddings/Ultimate-Beach-Bag )
filled with several smaller things such as:

- bridesmaid wine glass and bottle of wine
- Bath and Body Works type lotions
- silver starfish bookmark
- insulated mug and flip flops for trip
- and whatever else I think of!

Would you preferWouldWoWWould you prefer one bigger gift or the beach bag with several smaller gifts?  Either way I will be giving them to them before we leave. Any suggestions for bigger or smaller gifts are also welcome!!

For two bridesmaids and junior bridesmaid they are all getting an oot bag filled with goods such as flip flip, pashminas, travel mugs, first aid kits etc..  and they main gift to them would be going to my wedding lol just kidding  I am planning on getting jewelery necklace or ring something that I think that the would like and that will go with the theme of the wedding.  I saw some really nice stuff at swarovski.com.

I think that they will be happy with whatever you give them.  It is the thought behind the gift that really matters.

I would go with one of your larger gift ideas.  To me, a whole bunch of small things doesn't always add up to the same as a big thing (even when the total price is equivalent).  Though I did check out the link for the personalized beach bags and those are really cute.  I would even say that you don't need to get the exact same big gift for the two girls if they have different interests as long as the money spent is equivalent.  So if one is a reader get the Kindle and if the other likes to work out then the ear buds and gift card.

Your girls will love whatever you get them, but it is great you care enough to try and get them the perfect gift!

I agree with the other ladies, get one big gift that they can cherish for a long time.  I got really gorgeous necklaces with swarowski crystals in red which was my wedding color.  I got 10 of them since I had my Mom, FMIL, 1 MOH, 3 BMs, and 3 flower girls (1 flower girl didn't make it so I sent it to her with her grandparents).  It was simple and pretty and definitely something they could use for many years.  The little stuff they got along with all other guests in their welcome bags.  For the guys we got some nice cufflinks (Dad, FFIL, BM, 3GM, and ring bearer).

Ear buds and iTunes gift card!  Coach bags are nice but women can be picky about style, color, blah blah.  I agree on the beachbag w/ small items - doesnt seem as "big" or thoughtful.  If they are  your true girlfriends like they sound to be - I dont think they are really to give a toot as long as they get to be with you and celebrate.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
