Is there a way to look on the RIU website and see what is avaialble?

Thanks!

I got a code from my TA and then I had to take that and go to the RIU site and put it in to get my REAL code from the RIU. However, noone informed me of this and when I found out I got scared b/c I hadn't done this I hadn't CONFIRMED my time. Thankfully my TA and Chandlyn got it all figured it out and my 4pm time was confirmed. I got an email from the RIU that had all the information that I needed.

So, I'm new to this site, but not to the planning...we have a 1pm wedding at ROR. We have the disco booked from 3-5pm for our reception and dinner at mammee bay at 6:30. We are considering a drink bar and snacks on the beach for our guests w/steel drum band while we get our pics...before the 3pm reception.

Anyone who is still looking for things to do between the early wedding and dinner, might want to consider the reception in between...that way your shnokered guests aren't leaving the reception early to sneak off for nappy time, because they've been drinking all day. Also that gives you ample time to spend with the new spouse should you be partied out too, or if you've paced yourself...have the last one's standing meet you at the bar after dinner.

We just got back from Cabo in October and let me tell you: all-inclusive + 90 degree heat = early bed time (if you're not careful). You also don't want to forget that this is a vacation for your guests too...and if your wedding starts at 12pm and your reception doesn't start until 9pm...they are gonna be exhausted, but feel obligated to attend a late reception.

Just a thought. Good luck to everyone! We have 6 more weeks! Its coming up so fast! Heather

Well I spoke with Chandlyn and you can have them set up the Hors d'eourves during that time which is done buffet style. Our wedding is on the 10th of April at 11am. I was worried at first but then I realized that by the time the wedding is over and we take pictures and everyone gets acquainted the time will go by quickly....plus I dont think I would do the activities and get everyone all tired out for the reception. Maybe plan small things in and around the resort but nothing too physical or in the sun....Marlon

I emailed Chandlyn and asked about having a lunch reception after my 11am wedding and this was her response, I'm gonna go with this plan so that my guests will have the rest of the day to do whatever they want, then whoever wants to meet at the disco that night can meet back up with us to dance the night away.

"Hi Courtney

For the lunch arrangements can be made for 12 noon at the Mammee Bay restaurant. A section will be reserved and set up with white tablecloths, napkins, silverware and glassware. Please note however that the meal is buffet.

Regards

Chandlyn"

I just wanted to say thank you for all the great info in this thread! I originally had a noon ceromony time and after reading this thread I contacted my TA. She was able to reach the resort and I now have the 4PM wedding time! I am so excited! It really does pay to call and check to see if there is any additonal times open!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
