Wedding Proposal in Iceland

Recommended Posts

Here is our story, its a little overdue as I've been engaged since October.  So here it is.  My boyfriend (now fiancee, I love saying that!) went to Iceland in October.  We went for a week and drove around the country, it is absolutely breath taking.  The day we got engaged would have been one of my favourite days ever but the engagement just made it the best day ever.  We went to see glaciers in a lagoon floating out to sea, then we went for a hike in a national park (one of my favourite things but not his) and saw a beautiful waterfall.  We then drove about two hours along the coast line to the Hotel Ranga.  It is a very expensive hotel in a very beautiful location, that we got a steal of a deal to stay there.  We hopped in the hot tub as soon as we got there and then had dinner at the restaurant.  It was one of the best meals of my life, just amazing.  My fiancee had been obsessed with the forecast of the northern lights for a few days prior.  I wanted to see them too but he really wanted to for some reason.  After dinner we went back to our hotel room and he took me outside on the porch because he said he wanted to see if we could see the northern lights.  They weren't out but he proposed anyways.  He didn't have a ring because it was on order and hadn't arrived in time for our trip.  So he made a ring out of the grass and put it on my finger.  It was awesome!  We didn't end up seeing the northern lights but I didn't care!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
