Wedding in Negril

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies! I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this forum! My fiance and I are planning to be married at Sandals as well, and after hours and hours of research, I think we have settled on Negril.  We haven't booked yet- and I am feeling the pressure to do so immediately, as many of Negril's butler suites are booked over the weeks we are considering... It will only be the two of us- and possibly one other couple, so there's not as much to worry about as some of you are having to.  I think the basic package will be just fine with us- with adding on some photography at the most. We are really hoping our friends will come, as the husband of the couple is a professional photographer! I am just looking for any further advice you might have on the planning experience- you are scaring me with the WC that you speak with before arrival! What do I need to be prepared to deal with from them when we are not looking for much in the area of upgrading?  Any thoughts/advice/ideas are so appreciated!

Congratulations and welcome!  You'll find so much information on here if you just do a search.  If you haven't booked yet, the best thing you can do for yourself is go through a TA.  They will act as your wedding planner and work things out with the Sandals people for you.  I have a great one if you need her info...PM me.

I agree with Ms. Wilson find a TA that is experienced with doing wedding at Sandals. My TA is awesome and I know at least 5 other brides that have gone through her. I am having about 30 guest and she has helped everyone make reservations. And the best part is that I don't have to pay her, she is paid via Sandals. Private message me if you want her information she is also on Face Book. Also the is a group of Sandals Brides on Face Book http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#!/pages/Fans-who-love-3-Sandals-Weddingmoons-3/134062736623921

Has ton of useful info. Hope this helps. Also when I chose Negril it was basically due to the fact that they had a Beaches next door (sister property) which family with children can stay at for a very good rate. Also I fell in love with the idea of a wedding gazebo right on the beach. Hope this helps. Good Luck in planning!

Thanks ya'll!! I love the facebook page- so fun to look at everyone's pictures!

We are BOOKED! :) We will be married June 30th at Sandals Negril! I cannot wait! We are working with a TA- so thank you so much for that advice- she is from dreamakers and is already impressing me.

I know the next several months will fly by and my to do list is already filling up! Dress hunting is a priority- I would LOVE to hear about everyone's dresses- dress shopping is so different when you have a destination wedding I think! I want to "Trash the Dress" so I don't want to spend a lot! :) Also- SHOES!!! I am short and would love to wear heels... we are just going to get married at one of the gazebos- do any of you girls think I'd be ok wearing heels for the ceremony and then just sandals for beach pics?

YEAH AND CONGRATS!  How exciting right?

Dress shopping is a lil different, but let me just tell you this will be my second wedding, first for fiance and I actually went with a wedding dress instead of typical dest. wed. dress.  I didnt get to wear one my first time and figure my fiance deserves to experience his lady in a beautiful wedding gown!  We will trim the train down some but other than that its on!

I think you are going to be perfectly fine w/ heels for gazebo ceremony and then just kick them off for beach photos!

Have a fantastic time dress shopping - ladies tend to get so stressed about it and I for one LOVED it - and darn it I only got to go three times!

We just booked Sandals Negril for March 2012! Quick question, we have two guests with small children, who will be staying at Beaches Negril. Will they be able to come over for the ceremony with the children? And do we have exchange privileges over at the Beaches as well, if we wanted to go spend some time with them over there?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
