Hi everyone,

I originally found out about La Barcaza by searching this site.  I booked with the previous manager (Flori) and I was concerned about how things would work out under the new ownership.  I have never posted on any threads here before but I wanted to let everyone know that my husband and I had a great experience with the new owners of La Barcaza.

Daniel was polite & professional and he made sure everything was in order when we met the day prior to our wedding/reception.   We had a total of 27 guests and everyone had such a great time! Jorge made sure everyone was dancing and having fun, everyone loved him.  The trio band, food (mixed grill), drinks, decorations, cake & service were excellent. We had our ceremony on the top floor, it was so private & the sunset was absolutely amazing. It was nice to have the wedding away from the resort since most resorts seem to book at least a few weddings each day.  Many of our guests said our wedding was the best they had ever been to and they were very impressed with La Barcaza.  I would highly recommend La Barcaza for a secluded & unique destination wedding or a fun reception party or excursion.

One recommendation: I'm so glad we had professional pictures taken at our resort before we went out on the boat. The constant breeze on the boat (which felt awesome) had my hair in a ponytail within 30 minutes.  I'm sure an updo with lots of hairspray could do the trick though...

Hi!

I am working as a professional DJ in the Dominican Republic. I have been asked several times to play on La Barcaza so far. In the last couple of months I can tell that all the event went down really great.

The entertainment system, including the sound system has been completely changed, and they have new lights as well. I think they are into renewing the whole boat. According to the guests, they love their special cocktails and drinks, the food and the couples usually asks for extra hours because they just don't want to leave. The staff has been really cool with the guests and with us as well.

I think its a great and unique venue for all kinds of events in Punta Cana.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
