I started working 2 jobs in April  so I am up at 4am to workout, at job no. 1 from 630-4pm, start job #2 at 5pm til 10pm.  Then start the day all over again...did I mention I have a 5 year old that needs to be attended to! LOL!

But I am dedicated and know what I want to look like on wedding day as well as on the beach, with you all and FI to keep meon track....not sure how i can lose cheesy.gif...except weight that is!

Oh my!!! Congrats!!!! My birthday is July 14th, maybe you son and I will share a birthday (if her comes early)!!!

Hi,

I have been trying a new approach from a book I bought from Good Housekeeping called "Drop 5lbs, The small changes, big results diet". It 's not really a diet more of a book to teach you ways to cut calories but without giving up all the food you love. I have been counting calories and keeping a journal and going by the books recommended calories per day guide.

Breakfast 350 calories

Snack 100 calories

Lunch 500 calories

Dinner 500 calories

Optional snack 100 calories

Total per day for women: 1,450 - 1,550 per day

I have been trying to follow this and if you follow it, it really works. I have lost about 2-3 pounds a week, without exercising. It just gives you small ways to change your diet and nothing drastic so your more likely to stick to it. There are also great recipes in the book. I bought the book at Walmart for about $20 but totally worth it.

I know I can't give up certain things like carbs. So this book is great because I can still lose weight and eat the things I love in moderation. Now I just need to get back to the gym and then I will really be back on track.

  • 4 weeks later...

I also count calories, and just recently started running, but i use the iphone app Lose It! It is so easy to use and i love that it is always in my purse! I am down about 6 pounds so far, but like i said i also started exercising like crazy...I started Couch to 5k and and now i am on Week 3 Day 2, and i love it!!! i would definitly reccomend it to anyone who wants to run but doesnt know where to start like me...Two months ago i smoked cigs and was attached to the couch, then one day i woke up, quit smoking, starting diet/exercise and my journey begin...Even though my weight loss number isnt high yet, i wanna lose 25 pounds, i know it will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck everyone !!!!!!!!!

hi ladies,

I couldnt help but notice this thread... Im a 2013 bride but also a Personal Trainer / receptionist and mother and know how life gets in the way of best intentions sometimes!

It sounds like your all doing fantastic and the group support thing is a fantastic idea!

What I recommend to my client who are mostly bride to be's or new mums that want to loose weight is to firstly switch theie portion size for lunch and dinner... most ppl tend to have a light lunch and a heavy dinner!! switch these around as u are more active during the day so will get more opportunity to burn off a bigger meal than u will eating in the evening!

also try not to ea carbs after 5pm... I say try as i personally find this difficult! but if done with the meal switch over its actually not to difficult and has great weight loss benefits!

Try where possible to do some resistance training even if its body weight exercises... you wont end up looking like a body builder I promise but lean muscle tissue breaks down and uses fat more efficiently!!

I could go on forever... hope these tips help!! they are def my top three!!

good luck brides im sure u will all be beautiful brides regardless

Hi Ladies!!! It's been awhile since I last checked in... hope everyone's summer is going good. We had a busy July, gone most of the month for weddings out of town. Now that we are back and getting into the swing of things again, I have realized how much slacking I have been doing this summer. I'm going to get back at with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and using myfitnesspal.com to keep my eating in check. I really like myfitnesspal, it makes me think twice before eating junk and motivates me to eat better when it tells you, "wow, you could weigh .... in so many weeks if you eat like this everyday"!!!  Love it!!! Just over 5 months for me until the big day so it's butt kick time... no more slacking!!!!

I'm curious, what's Couch to 5K? Is there a book or website to look to see what the plan is? I'm intrigued! :)

Another bride on here pointed me in the right direction. It is my favorite site, I've lost 4 lbs since I started!!! And you can google the Couch to 5K, that's what I did. It's like running/jogging and the intervals to get to going. It's actually quite good also, I've been doing it here and there on my treadmill. Welcome to the forum and everyone is so helpful you'll love it!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
