Congrats girl!!!!  I had to plan my colors around a beach wedding AND an AHR.  I'm getting married in January which means it will be freezing back here in Philly for my reception, so I had to keep that in mind when picking my colors.  I felt like anything toooooo tropical (i.e. orange and fuschia) would look awesome in Mexico, but would not translate well to a formal AHR.  Same thing with tooooo formal a theme for the AHR - wouldn't translate well to a beach wedding.  Soooo, I went somewhere in between.  I decided on aqua/tiffany blue, lemon yellow, and white - think aqua/tiffany blue BM dress with a yellow and white bouquet.  The lemon yellow will be more of an accent color than anything else.  Try googling inspiration boards to help :)

Congrats in your engagement! I had trouble with colors too. I started by browsing through real weddings on theknot.com and marthastewartweddings.com to see what others had done. Originally I wanted to do orange and hot pink, but couldn't imagine making my 7 bridesmaids buy an orange dress. ;) I completely changed directions and am now doing white, navy, and kelly green! If you search this site for wedding colors you will see other threads on this topic with great ideas. Good luck!

Good luck,

I couldn't agree more!  I think that I'm just going to use the yellow as an accent color bc of that.  My main will be the aqua

To pick my colors (because I knew I would use them for chair sashes and napkins) I actually ordered a sample set of chair sashes and napkins online at

http://www.efavormart.com

That way I could physically have all of the colors available for linens in my hands and play around with combinations.  I ended up choosing a light blue (what they call periwinkle) and navy blue as my colors, which will be used for the napkins, chair sashes, table runners, and BM/Groomsmen.  I liked that the colors are low key because now I can use any bright/tropical flowers and not have to worry about the colors clashing.

Good luck choosing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
