Bringing photographers to Dreams Palm Beach

Recommended Posts

I am getting married December 2, 2011 at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana. Has anyone who has gotten married there recently brought their own photographer from where they live? If so, did you have any problems with them getting to the resort and getting to take the photos? They are staying at the resort with us over the entire weekend, so I figure it would be fine for us just to say they are family friends and they aren't getting paid for their work. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I'm bringing in my own photographers as well.  They are also "family friends" staying for a few nights, so we are able to avoid an outside vendor fee.

I need to find out if there is a work visa requirement for them entering the country with their equipment?  We don't want to have any problems in customs. Getting in contact with the US Embassy is becoming a royal pain.

Anyone fly down there own photographers?  Are there any specific requirements? Please help!

Thanks,

Shannon

I emailed Melani about it a while back and she said that it was fine that we were bringing our own photographer. She didn't say anything about requirements. I'd say as long as they don't advertise that they are paid photographers, there shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Shannon & brides bringing your own photograhers - don't worry about getting any visas for them. Do let them know that they are allowed 2 camera bodies per person, but I doubt anyone will be bringing more that that. Also, give them an invitation to carry with them just in case. As long as they write on the customs card that they are traveling for 'pleasure' - they won't even be asked. Hope that helps!

Oh I can't wait for Dreams!! My fiancee and I will be living in Punta Cana as of this fall (2011) & shooting weddings, it's so exciting to be on the other side of things. Let me know if there is anything I can help with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
