Amazing Photographer found for weddings from Cancun to Tulum!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello to all the future brides!

I just got married December 7th, 2010 at the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal in Playa Del Carmen. First off Gabriela the wedding coordinator is amazing! I absolutely love her, nothing but wonderful things to say about her!

Second, Octavio Montes was the most amazing photographer! My wedding pictures are perfect and at such a reasonable price! if you need a photographer for your wedding I would definitely recommend him with out a doubt! www.octaviomontes.com Hope this helps!!!!

Im getting married there in June!! I dont know why there arent very many postings about the Tucan or Quetzal on here.

Im thinking of going with the new photographer they have under contract there. Its called Adventure photos and if you use them you dont have to pay the 300 dollar outside vendor fee. the photos on thier website are pretty good and the package with everything is 1,499.00

How much is the photographer you used if you dont mind me asking?

So far Gabriela has been fabulous to work with!!  We are getting married on May 3rd at 4 pm on the beach.  We only have about 20-25 people coming so we couldn't have a private dinner/reception.  We are having dinner at La Marimba Steakhouse and then having a Cocktail Party on the beach after with a mariachi band.  Our colors are fuchsia and orange, so our flowers are going to be pink and orange roses and lillies.  I think we are going to have a Tres Leche cake decorated with flowers and ribbon.  We are still trying to decide about the centerpieces.

I am so excited to find someone else getting married here!!  What do you have planned so far?  Are you having your hair/makeup done in the spa, or are you doing it yourself?

I love Gabriella! she really has been awesome!

We are getting married June 5th at 5pm on the beach. reception at the steakhouse as well. We also only have 20-30 people coming but we selected the dream package and it included the private reception at any of the restuarants (I think) it also came with a welcome cocktail party the day we get there, mani, pedi, hair and hair trial and lots of other stuff! our colors are bright blue, green and orange so I think were going to do tres leches with blue ribbon and orange flowers. I havent even thought about centerpieces!! We will probably just do something simple :)

Right now Im thinking I will probably do my makeup myself.

Im excited to find you too!! I dont think there are too many of us on this site! what made you decide on this resort?

I decided on The Tucan because it was a lot less expensive than many other resorts, it is really close to Playa del Carmen town, and they only have 1 wedding a day.  Some resorts have like 5 weddings a day, and I wanted to feel like my day was mine alone!!

I thought about going with that package, but I didnt want to spend the extra money.  I did splurge a little and reserved the presidential suite for 2 nights.  That way all the girls can get ready in that room.

I am going to go simple with the centerpieces too.  I don't want to have to bring down anymore stuff than I absolutely have to!!  The list keeps growing lol!  I am thinking about buying some maracas in PDC for the tables at dinner.  I was also thinking about getting some lucha libre masks for the guys!!  Thought that would be fun in pictures!!

Do you have your music figured out yet?  I am trying to figure out what music to play for the ceremony and our first dance song.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
