Any Melia Cabo Real 2011 brides?

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to reach Melia cabo real for 2 weeks now with no response, I would like to find out more details about pricing and costs for a wedding reception in a private area for about 45-50 people.  How much do they charge per plate? and for alcohol?

Also If you have any pictures of your wedding there that would be great too.  Is there a good area to have a dance? I want people to be dancing lots at my wedding.

Hi,

You will notice the response time initially will not be very quick. You just have to try to be patient. You might want to try adding her on skpe: MeliaCR.Weddings and see if you have a better response time.

I am not too sure what the prices are for 2011, you will probably have to ask Vanessa about that.

At our wedding we had 77 guests not including the vendors. The garden terrace was were we had our reception and it had plenty of room for dancing as well as the tables and bufffet station (we chose the buffet).

Hope that helps.

Hi,

I am getting married at the Melia in May of this year.  Skype is the way to communicate with Vanessa, I am able to get so much information and accomplished with her through Skype.  If you want to send me your email address, I can pass along everything that the Melia has given me to help you decide.  (I've got a ton of info that she's given me)

As far as plated meals, it depends on what package you are thinking of going with.  We went for the fairy tale package (we have about 40-50 guests) and its $45.00 extra per person. (The package only includes up to 24 people)

We also went with the garden terrace because it was the most private, we actually went down there before booked and it was a great resort.

Good Luck!

    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
