Who is the Best Photographer in the Cancun/Riviera Maya Area? PLEASE HELP!

Recommended Posts

We just returned last week from Secrets Silversands. We used Susana Hidalgo as our photographer. We absolutely love our photos. Susana was professional and timely from the moment we first made contact. She had our photos in a little over a week and half! below is her link to her site and to her blog with our pictures. We did have to pay an outside vendor fee to the resort of $150.00 and it was all well worth the money. The resort photographers were outrageously expensive and you had to purchase every photo you wanted. Susana downloaded all of the photos taken with 250 images edited. You will not find a better photographer and very reasonably priced!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

One of the hard parts about planning destination wedding is trusting the world wide web when it comes to picking different vendors for the big day. I am getting married next March at a private villa located between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. I researched many diff photographers before deciding to work with Octavio Montes Photography. There website, http://www.OctavioMontes.com , is very easy to maneuver and email correspondence has been promt. My many questions are always answered and the samples found online are beautiful. It is easy to tell they take pride in their work and really love what they do.

Through numerous search engines and time consuming interviews, we noticed Shenko photography that has showed their exquisite work and a style that only they can create. My husband and I had an amazing experience with Genya and Erik in December 2013. We were happy to find out the uniqueness of these photographers to genuinely care about getting to know their clients; also, they are responsive and professional. Moreover, they share the happiness and a moment of love with a couple.

We had a package of two days photo shooting with Genya and Erik: a ceremony day and a day at cenote/beach. Genya and Erik made us feel totally at ease and gave us really helpful tips on posing and looking natural and telling us where to go and what to do - something we really needed given that my now-husband and I are pretty low key, and the idea of modeling for pictures is not generally our idea of a great time - but with Genya and Erik we actually had a whole lot of fun.  ;)

I knew we were in good hands for the wedding and the second day of shooting. From the getting-ready shots and first look, to the ceremony and beach, they captured everything from small details to the wonderful range of emotions. For the most part, they were really discreet and we barely noticed them, but photographers were also wonderful at taking control of the situation and making things more lively where needed, such as turning stiff-looking formal family portraits into pictures of people laughing and hugging and having a super fun time.

Best regards,

Julia and Stan

My husband and I were married 5/5/14 in Riviera Maya, and went with Amorcito Corazon Studios for our wedding photos.  They were amazing!

Anel and Jacob were our photographers and they did an fantastic job-- can't say enough good things about them!  They were friendly, reliable, and fun people to work with.  Would highly recommend them to anyone for their wedding photos!

We also recommend Luis Paredes of Dreams Gate Films for videography.  Responds quickly to emails and also very nice to work with.  He does great work!  Here is our short highlights video:

The reception was in a cave restaurant called Alux in Playa Del Carmen.

It was very beautiful, but really really REALLY hot in there.  I'm surprised everyone didn't cut their dresses in that heat :)  It was worth it though.  We couldn't have picked a better spot... they had great food, and it was more beautiful than I imagined.  Very romantic for a dinner-- you should go if you get extra time while in Riviera Maya.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
