Who is the Best Photographer in the Cancun/Riviera Maya Area? PLEASE HELP!

Recommended Posts

My favorite is Playa Weddings -- it is a husband and wife team. They are from the US but have lived in Mexico for eons. She does photography. He does the videography. It is not necessary to have both the photography and videography if you go with them. It was just great that they offered both. What I really love about them is they have a very authentic style i.e. the pictures come off looking very genuine not staged and stiff. The video is the same. I know they started doing Super 8 video (think nostalgic videos that you would see of your parents). I think they are doing them at cost right now to try and get more people interested in it. I did some research and got some pricing and we used Gonzalo Nunez his price was more than reasonable for what he was offering ~10 hours for wedding day and then 5 hours I think the next day for TTD.  We did some emailing back and forth and he was always very quick to respond.

He was so friendly and so funny.  He came to the resort promptly when he said he would and got started right away.  Wedding day came and went and then there was TTD.  He took us to three different locations and even took us for tacos at a roadside taco stand and they were the best tacos ever.

He just sent a preview of the photos he took and I am so very impressed.  So far they are amazing.  I would highly recommend Gonzalo.

Here is his blog.

My husband and I used Juan Navarro for our wedding and TTD photos and I agree with everyone else......he is amazing! Well worth it, you will NOT be disappointed and he is so much fun to work with! I booked him and about a week or two before we were leaving he emailed to get details about times, what we wanted, etc. We both highly recommend him and his team. Oh, and he showed up at our resort with 3 other people, so they get pictures of you and your guests from literally every angle! Here is a link to our wedding pictures that he posted yesterday....

I used Ismael for my wedding on 8/23 at the moon palace resort!  He was FABULOUS! I could not tell you how happy I was with the photos!  He is very flexible and will do any types of photos that you want.  He is a great artist!

I strongly recommend him!!

Thanks you so much.  I haven't heard of anyone using him, so I was getting really nervous about sending him money.  That is one thing that makes me nervous about destination weddings and using vendors off of the resort.  I'm thrilled to hear that you had a good experience!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
