Who is the Best Photographer in the Cancun/Riviera Maya Area? PLEASE HELP!

Recommended Posts

Same here, we're planning at least half the wedding budget for photos, probably more.  I know some things like dresses and rings are what brides dream of, but I plan to do those things for far less than most & spend the savings on photography.

I've literally spent all week stalking photographers' blogs and portfolios, and I agree Del Sol is as good as it gets, everything I was hoping for and more.  We're trying to work out a budget to make it a reality.

Did you do a TTD session with them, noelles?  We are planning on that.

Haha, same for my partner!  I think I'm equally excited about the ceremony pics & the TTD, but I know it's the TTD photos that will most blow everyone away once we're home and showing them off.  I'd venture to say a lot of friends and family members have never seen anything like that.

Thanks for all your responses and advice. I have been really stuggling with choosing a photographer. I was orginally going to pick Juan Navarro but a couple of his recent weddings gave me doubts. Now I'm looking at Ivan Luckie.

Has anyone used Ivan Luckie or heard about his work?

Photography is extremely IMPORTANT to me. I see all these amazing and beautiful wedding pictures and all these great reviews. I just want those same experiences and amazing photos. I'm just so scared of making the wrong choice.

Also, it's hard to choose a photographer when every single one of them ALL have great reviews. I haven't read a bad review yet. It makes it so difficult.

Oh and the TTD photos are so amazing but I'm coming home and having a reception. Have you ever seen someone use another dress just so they can do TTD?

Hey there! I'm so glad to hear you got amazing wedding photos. Congrats! I have talked to David Pena but I have been debating on Ivan Luckie. This is such a hard decision. Do you have some more wedding photos that I can view? Thanks for you time.

Choosing a photographer was one of THE hardest decisions so I can completely empathize! I must've poured over their web sites/blogs/galleries for HOURS :)

For me, it was between Elizabeth Medina, Juan Navarro, Ivan Luckie, and Del Sol. Then we narrowed it to Ivan and Del Sol. THEN we finally decided to splurge (for the same reasons many others have said - it's all you'll have left years from now to look back on, long after the cake, dress, etc.) - & went with Juan Jose of Del Sol. But I was so torn and Ivan was so sweet and responsive to my email inquiries & had impressive photos, so I'm sure you'll be happy with whomever you choose!

And I'm using another dress to do my TTD - either my mom's old wedding gown (altered to be more 'modern') or one of the $99 dresses from David's...

Good luck - I know it's tough!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
