The Hard Rock Punta Cana

Yes we signed our contract last year so we don't fall under the new ruling of the function time constraints. She didnt even mention a fee when I spoke to her but i asked anyway because I had seen many ladies having issues with it. She said we would not be charged for the extra hour. I think that having someone stand at the ailse and hand out programs is what I will end up doing because I am not paying $200+ for someone to do that for me. Teh set up fees are outrageous. Renee told me that she was only handling weddings that were booked from the 15th of each month to the end of the month fro now on. Maylen is the one handling our wedding now even though Renee is the one that still responds to everything so I don't know whats going on with that. I agree that keeping in touch is super helpful, so I will keep you updated with anything I find out. Thanks!

I also wanted to know about the plated dinner menus, that does sound absurd if you have to choose the same dish option for all your guests. I just emailed her and I got an automated response saying she won't be returning an email back till after a week??

I chose the complimentary package, so I'm adding all the additional decor.

With the reception, being that I'm requesting the ballroom, do they include tables and chairs, glasses, linens, etc. or is that all I have to add on and pay for extra? Just wanted to know because they tend to charge for basically everything and I haven't heard from renee or maylen in regards to this only from caribbean celebrations.

I'm only asking because my friend got married in DR last year and had to pay for every single item rented.

Vane and LALA - When we thought we were able to have plated dinners, according to Renee the guests were able to choose anything on the list just as long as there's an appetizer, entree and dessert. They're able to choose 2 entrees if theyt wanted. You would only need to give her the table seating.

Hope that helps!

Toya,

You could give your guests two options and have them choose before hand. Then you could let the hotel know who will be eating what. This would also entail for you to do assigned seating which could get complicated. The other option is for you to choose two entrees from the menu for all your guests. So everyone gets two main courses which are served on the same plate. That's what I chose to do. The only thing is that there are so many menu options that it could be hard to narrow it down just to two.

By the  way, have you tried contacting your on site WC? Your wedding is only 1 week after mine so you should be able to speak with someone in the hotel already.

Hope this helps.

Vane, do you plan on having unlimited events? If so, then the tables, chairs, glasses, etc... are included. They have a limited selection of complimentary linen. The available colors for table cloths are white and ivory only. Here is a pic of the available colors for napkins and overlays:

If you want any other colors or a special type of linen, you'd have to pay extra.

Thanks Lala,

How do I figure out who my onsite coordinator is? I belive its Nancy, but I've tried calling the wedding office in Punta Cana and no one answers...just voicemail. Do you typically speak to them on the phone or via email?

Hello Ladies,

I just booked my wedding for summer of 2013 at the HRH in Punta Cana and I agree that getting in touch with Renee is the hardest thing ever!! I wanted to know about color themes and the Colin Cowie wedding packages. Did anyone decide on a Colin Cowie package? I have a question about colors cause I want my wedding colors to be red, aqua and white but no one has gotten back to me about being able to incorporate other colors. Does anyone have any advise or suggestions? I would appreciate any info anyone has!!

thank you!

Dee

Toya,

I usually email, but sometimes I call if I see that it's taking a while to get a response or if I have a quick question. Try calling the hotel's main number and ask them to transfer you to the wedding department. Give your info to whoever answers in Weddings and have them look up the WC that was assigned to your wedding.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
