The Hard Rock Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

Hello all

My fiance and I were planning on having our wedding the Hard Rock but this lack of communication is unacceptable. I have even been in touch with the manager who I have made several phones call to none of which were answered. I reached her via email basically stating our grievances and it took her several days to respond. Then with our reply email emphasizing poor communication, we are still waiting for an email back. We are most likely going to the Paradisus palma Real now. Has anybody heard anything about it there?

Wow well that's nice to know that Maylen is no longer there considering she is supposed to be our planner as well. So nice of them to let us know. Do you know who is taking over for her? Their lack of communication is beyond frustrating. I mean I would be happy if someone simply emailed me to acknowledge they had received an email or call from me even if they weren't able to answer my question at that time. Yes unfortunately it is all in Spanish. I found that out in my one and only conference call. Renee informed that the only thing you apparently get to say is either "yes" or "I do" Which bummed us out because I really wanted to repeat our vows. Our way around that is having a friend get up and say a little something in English and maybe saying our vows in English during this time.

Hi Vinarum,

I selected the Sapphire collection too! Are you using the blue huppah fabric that is included or did you decide to upgrade to the shear/chiffon option? I was thinking of upgrading but don't think it's worth the additional $650 they were trying to charge.

I was so peeved with the way things are ran at the hard rock. I'm sick of hearing some sorry excuse of having to transition to a new system and the overflow of work. For such a big resort and claiming to be or wanting to be the best in DR, they should be able to handle the volume. Hire some people. My reply was that my contract stated that final payment was due by March 14 and that I don't appreciate being demanded to pay and how unprofessional they were.
I'm still waiting for Maylene to confirm about payments for the additional things we need to pay for.
This resort is not cheap and our party is quite small compared to most of the brides but we're still giving hrdc business.
It would take a miracle for them to make me change my mind about this resort even if my wedding runs smoothly.
The planning process has been a nightmare.
Sorry - had to vent

I'm having a symbolic ceremony. The civil ceremony seemed to be too much of a hassle. You need to get documents translated, pay additional fees, etc... Even the hotel WC's recommend the symbolic option.

With the symbolic ceremony, all you need is your marriage license right? My TA said that all we need is our marriage license to take out there. I'm confused lol and the fact that I haven;t heard from WC in 2 weeks and now I'm thinking about looking into another hotel. I understand that they are going through a big transition but they need to keep us updated and not leave us in the dark. I'm hoping they get their act together soon cause if not I'm going to another hotel.

Hi Lala,

We are still waiting for Maylen or whomever our wedding coordinator at this time is to get back on pricing for the table settings. But if it's $650 for the upgrade then I don't think we're going to pay for that, just too much.

We did confirm the centerpeices, just a small vase of roses for $43.

Where are you planning to have your reception? Are you hiring the DJ?

Hi Vinarum,

I agree with you, it seems overpriced to me too. That's a great price for the centerpieces. Did you confirm that with the onsite WC or Caribbean Celebrations? I'm having the recption at the Fillmore Ballroom and I'm getting the DJ/MC/Lighting package. What about you?

I bet the centerpieces are quite small though.

We put a request in to have the recpetion at the element terrace. We are having a slideshow so we're going to rent the projector but was wondering we really needed a dj because of the price. We are way over budget and we cut back on a lot of things. Don't want to skimp on the entertainment because our guests have paid so much to be with us for our special day.

We were going to go to the club and party there after the reception but if we have to pay for entrance and drinks, might as well take advantage of the free alcohol at the reception.

Vinarum,

If you don't want to pay for the DJ, consider the sound system as an option. They provide a technician to help with it. I know you must be super busy right now but if you have some time to make a good playlist on your Ipod, that could be a good option. I agree with you on the part of entertaining guests, I feel the same way which is why I'm doing the DJ. I want to make sure everyone is having a great time and the free alcohol doesn't hurt either msnwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
