Hello ladies!!!

Congratulations to all!!! I have booked my wedding for May 2015 and I'm worried that I won't be as in control of everything as I thought I will be. My fiancé and I are paying for everything... We are having 50-60 ppl. I believe we qualify to the group benefits as far as the cocktail hour and the reception. How does that work...?? Do we still have to pay per plate? We want the wedding on the beach and the ball room as the reception, does anyone has the listing for the decorations prices example the white fabric on all the walls etc. We want to know in order to cut down our list and make it a small intimate wedding or to invite our original guest list. At the end of your wedding how much did you really spent?? Please it will be greatly appreciated ;)

Thank you

Jenn

Hi Jenn,

we had 44 people at our wedding and we qualified for 3 free events. So if they are still running the same promotion, you can get 1 hr free cocktail hour, 3 hr free dinner reception and another free event like a wedding rehearsal dinner is what we did. We did have to pay for the decor though including the plates, centrepieces and table clothes but to cut costs a bit and still have something nice we ended up going with one of the dinner table themes that hard rock offers. The food and bar was included for the free events. We had our wedding on the beach and reception at pooolside buffet. I have a vendor fee catalogue that if you ask, your wedding coordinator will give you. The vendor for the decor is called "Creative punta cana". There's another one called carribean celebrations but we used creative punta cana bc of wider selection. I hope this helps.... :)

Cheers!

Jamie

Hello Jamie!!!

That's helps alottttt!!!

With the free dinner reception what did that include? The dinner and the bar... How about the DJ and did you still have to pay for person ? Or did the free event cover all things just the decor? If you can give me a ball park number if how much it came out to ? Not the transportation just the wedding in the hotel? Thank you so much!!! I needed this help lol

Hi Jenn!

The free dinner reception included the bar tender and drinks as well as the buffet dinner. The plates, table clothes, chairs, napkins and centrepieces we had to pay for.. We didn't have to pay per person. You can choose the plates and table clothes you want off of creative punta cana catalogue or what we did was choose one of the dinner table themes (which was about $300) per table. The $300 per table included 8 chairs per table, plus table cloth, centre pieces, plates, napkins, napkin rings  etc. We just went with the the ivory theme that hard rock offered bc it included all these things for $300, which meant less things for us to worry about. DJ was part of the free event only for the first 3 hours. We paid for the extra hours we wanted after the first 3 hours. There's so many extras you can get so we spent more than planned.... I believe we spent about $5000 before we went for the extras and not including photographer and videographer:)

Hi all!

Has anyone used the free promo?  Is it truly no-cost or are there gotcha's?

We're looking for a pretty simple legal ceremony on the beach.  A group dinner afterwards is fine and we'll probably congregate at a bar or club afterwards.

This is the info I have on it:

Hard Rock--Punta Cana

Bridal Bouquet, Boutonniere(roses), one tiered wedding cake, minister,30 folding chairs, sparkling wine during ceremony, one dinner reservation for 30 people, honeymoon website( guests can give gifts toward your wedding and honeymoon), wedding planner, complimentary honeymoon Package(mini cake, sparkling house wine, honeymoon dinner, in room breakfast, welcome note from Colin Cowie,  Jacuzzi experience)  Now you get the $1800 resort credit(20% tax) which can be used toward a $3000 or more package, and there are several to choose from..Also, receive with the number of rooms you have a cocktail reception for 30 people and depending on the number of rooms booked 5 nights free and that goes up or down with the number of rooms booked in your party.

My wedding is quickly approaching and I am very nervous and very much excited. I have been in constantly contact with my off site wedding coordinator for a while now and all the plans we have made have been "tentative". I was told that I could not finalize my plans until the day we arrive and meet with onsite coordinator. Did you find that most or all of your tentative plans were confirmed once you arrived or did you have to make changes to your original plans? Also, did you have any guest staying off resort? If so, did you have any problems getting wedding day passes?

Tuff Luv,

We were able to go to the resort in July for four days and that gave us a great perspective on how things operate. The wedding coordinators at the resort have an average of 4 weddings a week. If they had to deal with weddings and brides that were still several months out they would be shorting the weddings of people that that had that week.

Although dealing with Miami leaves you nervous and anxious, don't be. They are the "keeper of the records" and they coordinate the details. Or at least that is how my wife and I now see it after a year and a half of planning. But here is the secret, in my eyes at least, the sooner you finalize all your plans/details with Miami the quicker you can get your contract which spells out the what's where's and when's. When we went to HRPC in July we walked away feeling comfortable with the wedding planner in DR, although we weren't sure if she would be the coordinator for our wedding, but we were still nervous about Miami. But once we received our contract that was all put to rest because it is what is both parties agree to and it gives the deliverables of the resort.

I have to admit that we only had one issue with a location for an event but that was resolved two months before our wedding. My wife and our 50 guests had an amazing time at the welcome event, the wedding and the reception. All of our guests stayed on the resort so we didn't have to deal with the day passes.

I hope this helps!

Barry

HI everyone! I am getting married on May 29, 2015 at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino! I am very excited about it and cant wait to begin planning everything. I already have a photographer- I went with an off resort vender to save $1500 (That's after the vender fees) and have gotten a DJ picked out, also off resort- which is saving me about another $2000! All together, my wedding is only costing me about $6000 including my photographer and the pricing Ive gotten on a DJ. Anyone had any luck finding an outside florist? The ones on resort are SO expensive!

Hello Prozak,

Congratsssss!!!! I am getting married a week before you on May 15, 2015 and have not received any prices to either decide on going with the resort vendors or the off site vendors. How did you see those prices?? I'm so worried and feeling a bit lost with the no communication. Thank you

Jennifer

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
