Feb 20, 2014 here!!  Who are you working with?  So far I have been extremely happy with Marlyn Tobon and Mia Mendoza!  I have phone call scheduled with her this Friday and am trying to decide where to have ceremony and reception.

Hi!  I just finished booking my wedding at Hard Rock for Feb 20, 2014.  I called the resort directly and asked for the wedding coordinators.  Once I spoke with Jennifer, she sent me all the info and told me to fill out the online proposal.  Every email or contact I have made since then (a month ago) I received email and information in less than 24 hours.  For sure call!

I am not the most technologically savvy person....I posted under the video thread, or so I thought!  It was from a bride on this site.....maybe on page 72?  Also if you go to YouTube, there is a travel agent who has a video that does a tour through the resort.  The video is cheesy but it gives you a good visual of lots of the wedding locations.

Hey ladies!

I am now less then 80 days out and things are coming together wonderfully! I want to let you know I felt like a lost bride up until recently. Once your guest list is finalized and sent into the hardrock they really step it up. I hired out for the photographer because I was too thrilled with the pricing and the vision of the photographer on staff. I am now using http://whitneyphoto.com They include 1000 edited photos, copyrights and video and will be there for every event/ getting ready. And although they are out of state for me, we met through skype. I will post pictures and video when we return. I have set up a site to help my family and friend keep in touch and get all the details @ http://weddingwindow.com Another site I set up is called http://idosteam.com It is going to allow me to stream our wedding live from the hardrock right to our weddingwindow page! ($200 for 2 hours) Technology is a cool thing =) When the big day is closer I will give you more details xox Hope some of this info helped!

Best,

Regina

Hi all,

My fiance and I are from the UK and are looking to book HRH for our wedding. I am getting together initial ideas and trying to get a budget together, so a few questions really I am hoping people may be able to help me with:

1) What did/are you guys do/doing about your evening plans? We went to a wedding in Mexico in 2010 which was lovely, the wedding was at 5pm and then after a champagne toast at a bar we went to an area by the beach for meal and evening do. All of this was great, but at 10pm the music was turned off and they started packing up the bar - we were all then a bit lost for what to do and most of us ended up going our separate ways shortly after this. I really don't want this to happen at my wedding so for me I feel this bit requires a bit more attention/questions asked on options! The website I find very confusing for letting me know what is and isn't included etc. so some advice there would be great also as I have seen people talking about hiring external DJs. Any details people could provide and ballpark of extra costs involved would be great thanks.

2) I have seen people have had fire dancers etc. were they hired externally or were you able to choose these with the resort? Also, has anybody had fireworks? The wedding in mexico we attended was a palace resort and would not allow fireworks, sparklers, lanterns etc. and I would really love a firework display if it is allowed at all.

3) Has anyone altered things such as the cake included in the package - e.g. is it possible to ask for a tier of cupcakes and if yes is it easy to interchange these sorts of things?

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Katya and Rob made our wedding so much more incredible than I could have imagined. From the very start when Katya greeted me with all my bridesmaids getting our hair done, to Rob hanging out with the guys to candidly capture them getting ready, everything felt intimate and special, as if we were long lost friends. Katya and Rob get to know you, your wedding day wishes, your love for your spouse, all ahead of the wedding by asking questions, stories of special memories or photo requests you have, so that they know exactly what you want the day of your wedding and you don't have to worry about anything on your big day.

My pictures couldn't have turned out more beautifully. The best part was that I didn't have to ask for anything, because they already knew what I wanted from previous discussions and they came through on all of it. They were incredibly fun, got all of my wedding party to relax and enjoy the pictures so we got some great candid shots, and they literally captured everything. The photos were amazing, the attention to detail and personal touches to every aspect of our wedding that they captured in their photos were exactly what I had hoped for, and they have kept in close contact with me for any and all questions I had. Booking with them could not have been easier, and how they send links to all your photos made uploading pictures fast and simple.

I mean this with the most sincerity and honesty out there, if you want flawless photos, photographers who care and capture emotions rather than just typical wedding poses, there is no one else to even think about hiring. One of my bridesmaids is a professional photographer and helped me search high and low for the best photographer available, and when we both fell in love with Katya Nova's work, we just knew. She is absolutely flawless in all she does.

Hi Rainbow90, Not sure if someone answered your concerns/questions....BUT i just came back from my wedding/Honeymoon vacation and i must say THE HARD ROCK HOTEL at Punta Cana is amazing! ALL of my guests LOVED their expierence!..that being said i will try to answer all of your questions.... 1) What did/are you guys do/doing about your evening plans? ANSWER: i gave each of my guests a welcome bag upon arrival. In that bag i included an itinerary for the weekend...with optional events for us to all meet up.. 1ST night (Wednesday) i had a "FAMILY DINNER" of 30 ppl (the least amount of guests arrived on this day that is why i chose this day for the dinner) at one of the restaurants there (this dinner was included with my complimentary package I which chose for the ceremony decor--but i'm sure you can make reservations for dinner through your coordinator)...after we went to Sunbar-- 2nd day (Thursday) "MEET & GREET" (Drinks!!!!) since most of my guests arrived on this day everyone ate at the restaurant of their choice and we later met at sunbar where everyone got to watch the last game of the NBA finals it was Awesome! after we decided to go to Club Oro then we decided to jump in the Pool as we were walking back to our room(soo much funn)...(noone really bothers there) they're are amazing!! 3rd night (Friday) (WELCOME/REHEARSAL DINNER)...i was entitled to 2 free private events for 3 hrs each in which i used for Friday night and my wedding reception. This event we decided for everyone to dress in ALL-WHITE Party it Looked BEAUTIFUL!! everyone loved it. 4th Night (Saturday) "WEDDING DAY".. Ceremony was at 2 pm followed by the cocktail hour from 3-4pm and the reception from 4-7pm in which we extended our reception 1 hr. EVERYTHING was PERFECT!!!! we all had a blast!! being that i provided an itinerary for my guests they were not confused about what was going on we made sure to communicate with everything...after the reception we all planned to change to our swimsuits and jump in the pool...we took shots of everything (we are party animals :) 2) I have seen people have had fire dancers etc. were they hired externally or were you able to choose these with the resort? Also, has anybody had fireworks? ANSWER: i am from the USA someone from the Miami office contacted me after i booked my wedding date...but once you are in contact with your wedding planner you can set that up thru her. 3) Has anyone altered things such as the cake included in the package - e.g. is it possible to ask for a tier of cupcakes and if yes is it easy to interchange these sorts of things? ANSWER: the complimentary package is what i chose and it comes with a 1 tier fondant cake i added an extra tier for an additional charge of 100dollars..(i had 60 guests) i am pretty sure it is possible to have cupcakes (it may be an extra charge)... i may have missed a few things but if i did please feel free to point it out..OVERALL EACH and EVERY one of my guests LOVED their vacation..they said it was THEIR BEST VACATION YET! ..it was mine too...... hope this was helpful

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
