I was just at the resort a couple of weeks ago for my site visit and No it doesn't effect the beach weddings. the majority of the beach is open and we didn't even realize a portion of it was closed. They closed it to do some work so it is safer to swim in the water in that area. The Isla beach is open which is where they will be having the beach ceremony until the ipanema side is open. Basically, if your having a beach ceremony it will be on the Isla beach!

Below is the information I received from our HRPC account manager regarding the beach closure. Weddings are still being done on the beach at the opposite end. I hope this helps! TA Patty

Effective September 7th, and for the next 90 days, a portion of our beach will be closed for the creation of a wave breaker. The approximate completion date is December 12, 2012.  This wave breaker will provide added safety for guests who choose to take advantage of our expansive beachscape while vacationing at the resort.

This project is being carried out by professional contractors who specialize in environmental benefits and solutions that provide added safety to those who want to go into the ocean.

During this time, a perimeter will be set into place to clearly mark the project area and to ensure guest safety. The rest of the beach, in addition to the resort poolscape, will still be accessible to all.

We thank you for your understanding and will continue to update you regarding this project.

Hello all-

I am in the process of picking the locations for my events. My ceremony is at 5:00 at Ipanema Beach aould like an outdoor reception. For anyone that has ever been to the HR can you receommend which terrace is better- Element or Toro? Any recommendations for cocktail hour? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chelsea

Not to worry, I inquired about this as well as I am getting married there Dec.5th this year. Apparently is far away from Isle Beach  as the resort is just massive. Not to worry. :)

We met with the wedding & group sales manager last week and were told the onsite WC's will not begin working with brides prior to 30 days to your wedding. Up until that time you need to work through the Miami office and the onsite WC's have been instructed to not even respond if a bride contacts them before the 30 day mark. Apparently they are very strict with this policy and will not budge. All communication must be with the Miami office until you are assigned your WC 30 days prior to your wedding date. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. TA Patty

Hi Patty! Do you know where we could rent DJ equipment that is cheaper than the resorts vendor JSV! They are overcharging for everything! Our guest who is a close friend is a DJ and he will be DJ'ing for us. Do you have any suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
