Aww, we will be wedding sisters!! My date is set for October 19th, 2013. I was able to change it to 3p today. I spoke with Leo and he told me that they do not have weddings at 6p in October so the only available times were 12, 2, and 3 so I chose the later. You said that you are getting married at 6p on Sunday? Yea I am sure that Sunday is a more relaxed day, so your ceremony will be amazing!

I was told that I would hear form a planner in 30 days to secure my date, so we will see! I am pretty excited. I was also going to work directly with LIberty Travel as I have the best agent, but my fiance is totally wanting it our wedding to be as affordable as possible. The rate I was quoted by my  TA was $599 for 3 nights, while using the membership is only $485 for two people and cheaper as you add people to a room (cap is 4). I just have to see how they handle travel and booking though their contacts.

I wish you all the best in planning! :)

Cheers,

LaShawn

Has anyone used the Elegant Ivory collection? If so, I would love to see pictures of the reception. I am interested in this collection, but would like to see what it looks like at an actual reception and not just pictured in the guide.

THank you ladies! :)

Hey, so I know it's a like 5 months after the fact and most people have had an issue with Marlyn in Miami.  I guess my fiancé and I got lucky but she has been wonderful.  We couldn't get her on the phone at first but once we reached her she was very responsive. She's emailed us with responses to our questions immediately.  After reading these blogs for days on end I was nervous it would be a train wreck trying to get this wedding planned.  We have about 200 people -  which is larger than most and did originally have problems reaching both Renee and Maryln.  Renee explained to my fiancé that she is actually not the manager but seems to all of us we were told she is.  Anyway, so I know Marlyn is getting some heat but I felt like I had to put in a good word for her since she was the only one who was truly helpful.

I can say the same for Marlyn. At first she was very slow to respond or did not respond but since the new staffing changes and overall changes during the past couple of months she has been very quick to respond. All of my emails re: booking/contract questions are answered within that day or the next day. I've learned to direct all wedding related questions to my WC (Lisa).

I am planning my wedding for July 3, 2013. I am looking at Hard Rock in DR and Dreams Punta Cana, I look both and scared to go with Hard Rock. I have tried to contact HR for the past couple of weeks and no one has returned my calls. Can anyone shine some light to help us make a discussion? Please send pic .

LRDubbs - That's awesome!  We will be there at the same time and you got the earlier time you wanted!  Good stuff:)

Did you say they told you they do not do 6pm weddings in October or that there are not any available for that time ?? My wedding is at 6pm.

That is a really good rate through the palace memberbership, hope everything works out with the travel arrangements etc.

We are having a group of about anywhere between 50-75 people, we plan to have a blast!!!!

Hey Melissa,

Yes, I am pretty excited about it. I thought the earlier the better!! :) Have you already signed your contract? I would suggest you call the office because Leo actually called me back to tell me that they did not offer 6p weddings in October, so please double check this.

I look forward to seeing you or your party. I am sure that we will bump into each other at some point that weekend. I plan to have about the same number of people, so I cant wait!

Have a great night!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
