I agree with you, that's the same reason I decided to go with the destination wedding cause I didnt want to be stressed. I did speak to Nancy who is the on site WC and she said I could call her anytime with questions cause she knows it's hard to get in touch with Renee. That made me fill a little bit better but I'm still torn.

once i solidified the date, i spoke to Renee a week later. I did have some trouble securing my date because Yamilla in the office was said my date and time was available then did nto get back to me and then turns out it wasnt so we are doing the day before. I am nervous too because we know where on the resort we want the ceremony and reception and I hope that honor that request. my fiance and i are exploring other places but the hrh is  the ideal location

I had my date confirmed 3 weeks ago and I still haven't spoken to Renee. I think you should call the resort and ask to speak to Nancy. She was really nice and maybe she can help you more then Renee can or Push Renee to answer your questions.

Sunlover - did you pay hrdc for the extras? I received an email from marlyn whom I believe is not with the wedding department about making the final payment for our sapphire collection. I was so peeved with the way things are ran at the hard rock. I'm sick of hearing some sorry excuse of having to transition to a new system and the overflow of work. For such a big resort and claiming to be or wanting to be the best in DR, they should be able to handle the volume. Hire some people. My reply was that my contract stated that final payment was due by March 14 and that I don't appreciate being demanded to pay and how unprofessional they were. I'm still waiting for Maylene to confirm about payments for the additional things we need to pay for. This resort is not cheap and our party is quite small compared to most of the brides but we're still giving hrdc business. It would take a miracle for them to make me change my mind about this resort even if my wedding runs smoothly. The planning process has been a nightmare. Sorry - had to vent

Vinarum I think you should contact to one of those girls i gave email. Before I did the site visit I was completely lost, but I visited 3 different hotels in punta cana, Carabela, Gran Bahia Pincipe Esmeralda and Hard Rock and I can assure you that hard rock is waaaay better, It´s the best hotel, once you get there, they will arrange everything, I saw 3 weddings while staying there, they have like 10 different events so they´re shure prepared for ours. I know communicating is very hard. but if you signed a collection and have your date I think that´s all. Now I recommend you take care on the extras and dont trust on the resort credit stuff because I hear that a bride on trip advisor had problems getting her resorts credits refound. So bring with you a good credit card just in case. For anything else be shure that this is the best place to do your wedding. The hotel completely worth every penny!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
