expedia.com seems to be the cheapest. I looked everything up on Internet and then i called Liberty Travel - they will match or even go lower.

they also can set up group bookings.

I booked my "vacation week" and contacted wedding department at the same time. when i got some papers from WC, i already had my dates and flight #s.

What time is your ceremony scheduled for? We have a 2pm ceremony and I am trying to figure out what to have guests do until dinner  little later on. You seem to have had more contact with the planners, so I was wondering if you knew of some options? Thanks!

Hello Tennyclt,

That is sooo funny I was thinking of contacting you and asking you some questions too.....My ceremony is at 4 pm I hoping for the Ipana beach location, the beach is supposedly longer and wider. 5pm is my ceremony and I was debating between the eclipse terrace and the tropical terrace. 6pm is my reception and I was hoping for the element terrace. I hope none of my hopes are the same as yours??? I have read they sometimes double book venues....if we both know we are on the same day it would be great for us to be on the same page to see what we both want in relation to venues......just a thought? In relation to your time in between the questions I have for you are:

1. How many guests do you have....meaning do you qualify for the unlimited functions?

2. Are you using an outside vendor for phtography/video (if you are doing both? I don't know) but if you are using the in-house photographer then you have to have consecutive events that is what I was told and read, just thought I would clear that up.

3. That is a hard one becasue my are consecutive....have you had any direction from Renee to having your functions one after another....I do not know if it is policy.....I would say do a ceremony and add on an extra hour of services it will be cheaper than adding on to your reception time...unless your guests would be ok waiting at a lounge of their choice.....

I have a question do you know if it is really cold and windy in November to have the reception on the terrace?

Also, FYI Hard Rock Punta Cana is no longer apart of the Palace Resort chain my TA is looking into who they are affiliated with......I have plenty of reference materials if you need direction I can forward them to you, the only thing I am waiting to get is a price list for the beauty salon for hair, I have asked three times and waited over a month......

I would also suggest to bring any materials that have information regarding what the hotel is suppose to offer e.g. I read they don't offer casino credits anymore and I also read they do...when ppl. were denied the employees said "show us something that says we offer this" I am bringing every piece of paper I have in my possession so I am not caught in this.....I would also bring pictures of what you are going for the more detailed you are on your end the easier it will be for you......

Have you booked a conference call with Renee yet?

Hope this helps....and I hope we can help eachother with this....

Renita Carwell

wow i am soooo happy i stumbled across this site!!! i am getting married at hard rock June 16 Th 2012 we booked in Aug 2011 and we had few issues in the beginning and some how we did get info and so we started to budget well now all the collections have changed as well as the prices, as for Renee our WC I happen called to ask a question and was told i now have to talk to her, so i was transfer ed to her left message, and another message, so she called me and set up a conference call which i was so excited for but by the time i was off the conf call i was so frustrated. I felt she had not 1 answer to my questions I felt all she wanted to do was up sale me. she wanted me to buy a photography pkg but has no 1 photography sample to show me, no cake. she just kept saying send me photos of what you want and Renee will get me a quote. I am still waiting on the quote from our meeting on Jan 17 Th 2012, as well as the answer to when choosing a buffet do you get everything on the list or do you have to pick and choose? well i spoke to Renee Jan 25 again to set up another call and told her exactly what i wanted to know on the call on  the 30 Th of Jan. and still no answers. THANK GOD for Maria who is a on site WC at the resort she gave me tons of info which really help. so thanks for listening to me vent but if anyone can add and help with their experiences once they get to the resort will help put my mind at ease and the virtual tours do you know who i can get them from?

A $30 cover charge and you have to pay for drinks when you are already paying for all-inslusive?? This hotel is going further down my list. It is one of the more expensive places to stay at and if you do not have 75 booked nights, I am really not seeing the price as worth it. The more reviews I read, the morned turned off I get it. I really wanted to love it here too. :-( Still have it on my list, but it's defintiley not at the top anymore. What a rip.

My wedding is coming up and i still havent been able to even book the reception yet, afraid that the element terrace will be booked. its a nice resort n all but not sure i would choose this place if i had to do it again. i also just found out that the club is not free on the grounds. its a 30 cover charge n drinks r not free there. we were hoping that there would be no more additional costs for our guest but im beg to find all thesd additional charges.
ginamapi - im not quite sure what package we want yet, will be meeting up with him next saturday.

Hello Tinaandjavier,

How did you communicate with the onsite WC Maria, did you phone her or email. I would like to have an alternative contact because I am loosing faith in Reene's capabilities. Also to let everyone know Hard Rock Punta Cana is no longer affiliated with Palace Resort I do not know who they are with, but my TA is trying to find out. I am trying to stay confident about my choice becasue it is too late to change I have over 50 deposits down for guests. I am still hearing positive reviews on Trip Advisor and the odd complaint but you get that with any resort. I also heard the planning stages for the wedding are very difficult but once you are at the resort everything seems to work it self out. The only thing I will warn you is that many brides find extra charges on their bills so read it very carefully.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
