I am becoming the worst version of myself dealing with this Renee lady... She ignored me until my fiance called screaming.  I just wanted to put a deposit down and get information on how my guests could begin making travel arrangements and she had her secretary (after not answering emails and phone calls for 8 days) tell me that she would talk to me on March 1st.  Thats it... thats all the "customer service" that was offered.  Then after his tyrade (which I wanted to avoid) she sent me an email with a payment form.  No amount to pay, no information other than a blank line for my credit card number.  Does anyone have a travel agent they are working with they could reccomend that could at least help me get the ball rolling on accomodations?

Ashli,

Where do you live? Canada? My TA may be able to help. She is a destination wedding specialist & is the only reason I have gotten anywhere with that Renee girl. She has made so many calls for me!! So, if you are still looking for an agent, she is great.
As for the communication issue. That will be the hotel's downfall.... the place is awesome (we went in April for a site inspection), but she has not been helpful. I have emailed her a couple times this week & she hasn't replied. So, on Monday I am going to call my TA & then she will hopefully talk/respond to me... lol.

It shouldn't be this way & it is sad in a way. I have been to quite a few DW (other resort chains) & those brides didn't have any problems communicating with the wedding planners etc. Hopefully it changes...

BTW- when is your wedding date?

ashli - i agree with you. i hate the whole process too. its so hard to get any questions answered, if it wasnt for this forum i would be in the dark for everything. My wedding is coming up and i still havent been able to even book the reception yet, afraid that the element terrace will be booked. its a nice resort n all but not sure i would choose this place if i had to do it again. i also just found out that the club is not free on the grounds. its a 30 cover charge n drinks r not free there. we were hoping that there would be no more additional costs for our guest but im beg to find all thesd additional charges. ginamapi - im not quite sure what package we want yet, will be meeting up with him next saturday.

To all you ladies getting married here Just somthing I think you should and would like to know......BEWARE!!!  When you plan your wedding you want to trust who you are dealing with.

Recent email that they never responded back to on tripadvisor.... they PM'd me and then nothing!

This resort sucks if you ask me and I didn't even have my wedding here(stayed at another nearby resort) which I also wasn't thrilled with.... we stayed at HRH for our honeymoon.... and planed a private photo shoot here for my husband and I.

My email address is xxxxxxxxxxx
I sent an email and got a response that the $400.00 dollars that you took off our bill was all you are able to do.... When we were there I let it be known that, that's a start but not enough. We had numerous issues as stated, one being with the spa. Another was we had an ant problem our entire stay even with the exterminating. When we first arrived to our room there was a chocolate honeymoon cake infested with ants. The biggest problem however is my wedding gown. The way we were treated with this issue was is appalling. I would be a little more understanding if I sent my gown to be cleaned but i did NOT. I sent it to be steam pressed. I wrote it twice on the laundering slip.....STEAM ONLY. The tag inside the gown has special instructions on dry cleaning and calls for a special cleaning, which is why I wasn't going to clean it until i returned home. I only wanted to take the wrinkles out for some additional pictures we were going to take at your resort. My dress came back to my room the next day soaking wet. The bottom of the gown which was dirty from wearing on my actual wedding day came back spotless.(proving it was cleaned) I wore the gown days before at another resort and had the same done just to remove the wrinkles before the wedding and it came back in perfect shape and that was a much smaller resort. The fact is no one is really taking responsibility for what occurred and your management made it seam as if they were doing us a favor when they took a very small portion off our bill. A whole night was ruined the night my gown did come back. I was so upset I couldn't even enjoy the evening with my husband. The amount of time speaking with the staff and management about the issues was the last thing we wanted to do on our honeymoon. As far as I'm concerned the fact that your able to just brush this off and say case closed is unforgivable and therefore we won't be returning to your resort. I posted this on trip advisor because I feel people should know the truth. I will also be posting on wedding and other travel forums as well because that is how angry I am. STEP UP and take RESPONSIBILITY for what happened.... If you wan't to use outside vendors(laundering service) Don't you think you should take this out with them??

ladies,

expedia.com seems to be the cheapest. I looked everything up on Internet and then i called Liberty Travel - they will match or even go lower.

they also can set up group bookings.

I booked my "vacation week" and contacted wedding department at the same time. when i got some papers from WC, i already had my dates and flight #s.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
