My fiance and I are about to book our wedding at the HR resort for January of 2013. I am SO super pumped. We thought we would take that route of our wedding photographer staying as a guest at the hotel and saying it is our aunt/uncle (this is what the WC at Hard Rock told us to do). Do any of you know if the wedding photographer has to stay for one night at the hotel to be considered a guest, or can they get a "guest day pass" and be considered?

Happy planning everyone!

Hi,

So we booked for October 12, 2012!woot.gif

I'm also concerned about being able to communicate with my onsite wedding planner 3 months before! Am I able to book where I would like my reception/cocktail hour before I speak with a wedding planner? I'm just concerned on availibity especially since I won't speak to a planner until 3 months before my wedding!

Thanks for the info gals!

I received a letter when they sent my contract saying that I would "Receive an introductory letter from my onset wedding planner 30 days before the wedding." To me, that is AWFULLY close to just be getting in contact with a wedding planner. I know some of you said you would have contact 3-6 months in advance. Did they tell you 3 months in the contract or did they say 30 days? Is that a confusing question?

Do you know if tables and chairs are included in the unlimited private parties? We are going to try to receive the free wedding reception. What all information have you been given on the wedding reception? Do you know if it includes tables, chairs, linens, etc.? Also do you know if you are limited to areas where you can have the reception? For example, can you only have the reception in the meeting room or could you have it on a terrace?

This site has been SO helpful!

So the deal with the unlimited parties is that if you have 25 rooms booked or if you book a total of 75 room nights than you can get unlimited private parties. So for us the welcome party, the cocktail hour, the wedding reception, and the brunch are all free in terms of booking the room, the food and the alcohol. Decorations, music, etc are all things you have to pay for. It really is such an awesome deal and allows you to really put moeny into the decorations, music, lighitng, etc. We are even going to do a party boat/snorkel tour for everyone the next day since we are saving so much money on the food and alcohol. ...and I felt the same way about the beach I did not want to walk in the sand and deal with the wind but after seeing it and how they have it set up and standing there and seeing the views it totally changed my mind.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanks!!

Gina

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
