The Hard Rock Punta Cana

My wedding is booked there for May of 2012. I went through destinationweddings.com. They have been helpful as far as the legalities and booking. If i ask my rep for help with travel plans or pricing info she replies almost immediately but when I ask about anything as far as decorations or dinner, or invitations I am pretty much left in the dark Also, I'm just going crazy because I cannot get any details about the actual wedding. I know they have packages but very little of the pre-made packages really fits with what we want to do. Has anyone actually been down there and seen it in person? I have heard it is amazing...

JJ512: I booked my wedding for May 12, 2012! What day in May are you getting married? I'm so excited! What questions did you have regarding decorations? Check out this website: http://www.creativepuntacana.com/ This is the vendor that the hotel uses for decorations, centerpieces, etc... You can contact them for quotes on the decorations you want for your wedding. Hope this helps!

I am getting married at the Hard Rock in October, 2011 and I was told that I won't get a WC assigned to me until 3 months before the wedding.  Yikes!! I am a planner just like you so I am not liking that idea at all.  I have so many questions to ask once I can actually talk to someone.  I will keep you posted :)

OMG!! We'll be bride buddies!! lol We're getting married the day before you! originally we were getting married on the 12th but we wanted our guests to stay for a whole day after the wedding before they left so we moved it to Friday. I am so excited!

I did do that but they wouldn't answer any of my indirect questions.  The lady told me that I will be able to get those questions answered when I get my WC 3 months prior.  Are you having a reception there or back home? We have 35 people coming and we don't plan on doing a reception there b/c we are having one back home.  I am really anxious to see what they have set up for after the wedding for all of us to go get a drink somewhere.  I would hate to spend more money on a package deal when everything is all inclusive and seems silly to purchase a food/drink package.

@ JJ512: OMG sooooooo excited! Maybe I'll see you once we're there. I'm arriving at the hotel on the Wednesday before the wedding. Can't wait!cheer2.gif

@ Breann, I'm having a reception there in one of the rooms they have available inside. I'm expecting to have between 80-100 guests so I figured it would be better to have a private function. I'm hoping to get the free private function they offer which would definitely save me some $$$. I'm sure the dinner they offer for 35 people shouwork out really nice though because they have a lot of restaurants and maybe you'll be able to go to the hotel's night club after dinner *hopefully the club will be open by then*, that is if your guests would like to go to a club. I completely understand where you're coming from though, as far as spending money on a package. The private function is only for 2 hours, after that you have to pay extra so it can add up when you can go to any restaurant in the resort without paying anything extra.

Hi Girls! So my parents aer actually down there right now checking out hotels for us and they met with the Hard Rock yesterday the WC is Nacny Ruiz. My step mom said she is great. So helpful and so accomadating. We have a date on hold for 10/27/2012 btu still going to check out Majestic and Now Larimar is on my list as well. So from what Iheard from my step mom if yuo can get the 75 nights of rooms booked under ag roup rate then its soo wirth it. You can unlimited parties so our welcome party, the wedding (diamond package) would be free, all the food and alcohol, and cake, and the n ext day private brunch.... Plus if you book soon you can get that resort credit which is awesome. I think its like if you book 5 nights then your room gets $1500 in resort credit. My  problem with the resort is that its so big and that the outside grounds are not very tropical looking. The inside and the rooms look great and my paretns said they do have that wow factor. They said the outside isnt as pretty as some other reosrts but if you get the wedding food for free then they you can go all out with decor and make the wedding have that wow factor too. I also dont like taht if it rains the only plan b for 100 people, which is what we aer having, wouldbe the ballroom and personally I dont want to be in a windowless ballroom. We are in the caribean for a reason ya know...My paretns come back in mid june and they took pics and video so I can uplaod once I get. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
