2012 Barcelo Maya Palace Brides!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi we are getting married October 6, 2012 at the Barcelo Palace.  We also choose the Strawberry Package because we wanted to get married and have the reception on the beach.  We chose the surf and turf for dinner.  Now we are trying to plan out the rest of the reception.  I don't know where to have the reception.  Everyone is saying the Azul is the most private.  We are going to be having about 65 guests so we will need about 8-10 tables.  Does anyone have pictures of this location?  I want to get an idea of how it can be decorated!!!

Thanks everyone,

Kristina

If you look back in this thread you should find brides who have posted pictures, that's the best way to see the decorated locations.

I have a few saved on my computer

Playa Azul

I'm not sure how many it can accommodate, you have quite a large party.  They might be spilling out of the Palupa thing. You'd have to ask your coordinator, they will also have pictures to send (some of these are from mine). I'm doing my ceremony at Playa Azul for the remoteness, I opted to do the reception closer to the resorts, as we have a couple grandmas and grandpa's and older people, who may want to run to their room in between, and have a break.

Palmerus

This site is the best for larger groups I think.  It's right beside the Palace - it's back up is also the Palmerus grill, so if it rains you can still be kind of on the beach, I think Azul and Coral the back up is a banquet room.

Playa Coral is the other beach location, I think it is a bit smaller too.  It's really pretty, and was my initial choice for reecption, but I opted to go with Palmerus because of the back up location.

It depends on how many guests you have.  The gazebo is beautiful but I think it is better suited for smaller numbers.  Otherwise the guest's views are obstructed by the columns of the gazebo.  If you go to the reviews section of BDW, you will find many pictures of the various ceremony and reception locations to give you an idea of how each will look.  Good luck!

Yes, the cost is per string.  Not sure on the cost.  Once I find out from my WC, then I will share with you.

Hey,

I am getting married at the Barcelo Palace on April 18th, 2012 and got the Chocolate Package. We have about 65 people coming...

Our wedding planner told us to go with the chocolate package... Did anyone else get this package?

Is anyone bringing a photographer? I was thinking about splitting the flight cost with another bride. If anyone interested let me know!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
