OK Ladies,

So I got the email from my TA that Monday is my 90 day mark (biting nails) and if I do not want to have to pay the 1 night penalty fee I can release 30% of my rooms 5 rooms.  Now I reserved 20 and sent out my save the dates back in Feb, and my invitations end of May.  So why do I feel guilty about releasing these rooms.  My family had plenty of time to put their deposit down which was only $100.00.

Just wanted to vent.

Wow penalty fee that stinks. I had the same issue but My TA didn't give me the option of keeping the block of rooms for a fee but I'm also a Mexico bride so maybe they do things different. I asked my TA if she could hold the rooms until the end of the week, which she agreed to and then my FI and I sent out mass text messages and emails telling people if the plan on coming they need to book or else :) I sent out 150 invites at the end of April w a June 3rd RSVP date and I only got half of my rsvps bak so I figured the rest of the people were no's and we called all the "probablies". Maybe your TA can stall just a few days to give you time to figure something out.

We sent out a massive email and text message as well.  My main family has already booked their rooms, the rest are just friends and FI people.  So we will see.

Are you guys doing an OOT bag? If so are you going to give it to them at the resort or mail it to them in advance?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
