How many did you send out? You might be surprised.... we've have a lot of stress & drama over our "destination" wedding but it's looking like we are going to have about 40-45 people coming, which is much higher than I originally thought! So think positive :) xoxo

I haven't thought about weather insurance what all does it cover?  My travel agent offered hotel and airplane insurance, but I didn't think of anything for the vendors.

You know I though about the weather in the beginning but then I did some research and I thought maybe hurricane season would be over towards the end of August. I've got my fingers crossed for us. Have you though about wedding insurance just in case...i think it's going to run-around $100 but it will make me feel better, even though the hotel claimed they would refund us I just wanted to be covered if we use outside vendors and for any other incidentals.

I also am a no fuss bride, minus family drama lol

Well I am budgeting for 50, but I think a lot less are coming.  I sent out 200 invitations.  I am really not concerned if the numbers are low..it is more just wanting to know the number so I can order my OOT bag stuff...:)

Hi Caboose, never formally welcomed you to the forum. Nice I've always been a fan of eggplant color, happy planning.

Insurance, you know I never really though about it until I saw it on another forum last week, I guess something to think about because it is the Hurricane season and it really isn't formally over until end of November. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for good weather but my faith is dwindling with all the freak weather happening all over the world. Believe me it is certainly something to give serious thoughts to. Now I should find out from my WC (which of course has been MIA for the last 2 months) what measures are to be taken by the hotel in the unlikely or likely event of a hurricane.

The weather was a huge issue for me in the beginning. My WC had said that the weather in September should be fine & even if it does rain it would be for like 20 minutes in the afternoon then it would be over. I'm not too worried about it because I spoke with my WC onsite and we chose back up locations in case the weather is bad we would move everything inside. Which of course I would not want but you can't control weather no matter where you are.

The forecast said it was going to rain for William & Kate's wedding and it turned out to be a beautiful day :) So let's all just stay positive XOXO

I haven't contacted the company yet but my brother had a wedding scheduled in New Orleans the weekend of hurricane gustav and they had to cancel the wedding and e insurance company reimbursed them for their monies/deposits that the vendors wouldn't refund. The company they used was WedSafe.

Wow I love your colors! I was thinking about getting my flower girl a similar dress. Is it a Dessy dress?

My place cards are the same (Martha stewart right?) I'm just waiting the number of guest to finally be confirmed. Do you ladies have problems getting your guests to rsvp?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
