Yay that's soooo exciting, lets see a picture :) I will be looking at bands in 2 weeks, my MIL owns a jewelry store so she is getting a collection together for me to look at and choose from. SOOOO excited.

Ladies question about the BM gifts..... I have a friend who works at coach and can get a good deal there. I am thinking of getting all the girls cute gold starfish earrings, which would be in my budget. But this would pretty much be the only thing I could afford... Or I could get them all something individual which I was thinking..... thoughts? All matching so no one feels more special or individual/personal?

Sorry Kabee, wish I can come up with a reason to get your refund back. maybe when you go to look at it try to come up with a reason of  it being too short or having a hole or something, or tell them the wedding was called off and play the sympathy card them might not give you back everything but maybe half of it...LOL. Also that's great news about your invites post a picture, I am yet to finish mine and to think the only things left to do is address the main and rsvp envelopes. Might have to do with the fact that am moving this weekend. ooh well it will get done when it gets done. Wait I though the Canada Post strike was off they're still doing that, then " ah better get cracking" as they say in the caribbean (maybe here too).

And oh girl about My MOH I just decided to bite the bullet and pay for the dress and put an end to the drama because I really couldn't deal with that. we have since had text conversations but yet to talk in real time. Isn't wedding planning fun?

I've already sent out my invitations and even included a brochure with the prices and infos about the hotel that I made on vistaprint .ca. They looked really professional and not expensive at all (about 120$ for 50 invitations and 50 brochures).

Do u if Canada Post is  going on strike today?

About your MOH I,m really baffled about her wanting a train, did she want a veil too?!?! lol!

I have a major problem. I made a deposit on a wedding dress that I wasn't sure about. Then I went dress shopping and discovered that I could own that same dress for an extra 250$ at a different store which I bought. I don't know what excuse or explanation to give them in order to get my deposit back. Any ideas?

Kabee,

I tried the same thing, unfortunately I found that most bridal stores are very strict about the deposit. I would sit down and really think about weather you want to eat the $250 or not, because I can tell you that they won't give you the deposit back. I know soooo many brides that have been in this situation before.... you can tell them anything you want and they won't care :( How much is the new dress? Is $250 a decent portion of it or small portion? Try to budget it see if you can save the $250 somewhere else so it will even out!

Hi Subbi

Man You have a lot on your plate: moving into a new place, planning a wedding, ''get cracking with the invites'' lol! I think you did a very smart thing with paying for the MOH dress.Smart move. But I'd still wait for her to buy or make a deposit on her plane ticket before buying that dress. About the postal strike, if they refuse the offer they can  go ton strike whenever they want. If they do go on strike, we'll have to send everything by courrier.. which can get very expensive. how many guests do you have?

I might go to the wedding rental store this w-end with my MIL and see if I can get the deposit transfered onto a dress for her. Crossing my fingers!! I'll definetly submit a post of my invitations.

Are you having a leagl ceremony in MTL before you leave or it'll legal in the Caribbean?

Congrats everyone! I'm September 3rd bride at Dreams Cancun. I really haven't done much yet, I thought I was going to be a no fuss bride and go with the flow but that's slowly changing. All the little extra things I wanted are not panning out so I'm a little stressed. The WC mentioned having a tequiler someone who specializes in tequila and does a tasting and I was going to do that the night before the wedding but now she says she can't find one. So I'm on the hunt not to mention Im still looking for reasonable priced fire dancers for the ceremony. Who knew finding things so common to Mexico would be this difficult. Are any of you having a rehearsal dinner, I'm seriously considering not having one b/c I don't want to exclude people..any thoughts?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
